its a bit strange..
springs and retainers .. are for insurance purposes..
if your going to do it .. you should do it once.. and do it right.. do the springs and retainers as well..
valves .. there is no real problem with the stock ones .. unless u were chasing bigger numbers .. you would cut back the valves and do a bit of headwork on the seats..
and or possibly get oversized valves..
i think if you are looking at chasing bigger power. . you will have to look at changing your conrods as well .. as that is the well known weakest link in the d series engine..
