Modifying an ITR
I am a proud owner of an 2001 ITR DC2 and will soon be recieving a lump sum to do up my car.
I am currently looking at upgrading the headers and exhaust system, but this is not related to my question.
I am very interested in changing my intake. Although im a bit confused to what i should change to???
I have heard that Mugen Cold air intake is a very good path to take (even though i have not seen or heard any info on how much of a power and torque increase you will recieve, also heard that you have to remove air con???)
Then there is Comptech and brand that copied Mugen but apparently is just as good or even better to some people (seen some charts of power increases but still sounds a bit dodgy, IM NOT SURE)
What im asking is whether anybody can post some information on what will perform better in my car will it be Mugen or Comptech.

You don't need to remove air-con for the Mugen Airbox.
You could also try (CAI):
Injen
J's Racing
I have no idea about Comptech.

ive heard good reports on Injen and Js Racing intake but never had first hand experience

If you got the grand to spend get the mugen, the best out there

while on topic of injen intakes, where can i get one for a good price searched and PM'd some people havnt goten response?

Mugen would be the best intake out there on the3 market for the DC2R. But thats if your willing to spend $1000+ on a intake.
Or do my style, Apexi intake wrapped in a Comptech Icebox and only half the price of a Mugen :)

cant go wrong with GruppeM!
Gruppe love! :)

I have apexi (I think it's called short ram or something), it's just fillter and pipe, it's works good, next thing is to get some heat protection and that's it.
Mugen would be very good but for me $1000 is too much just for intake.
If you want headers good brands are TODA, SPOON, MUGEN ect, but be prepared to pay $1000+, if you want something cheaper that works ok go Xforce 4-1 (I have them on my DC2R).
All depends on how much you want to spend.
