Turbo D Series - Dropping out / stalling problems!! PLEASE HELP!!

OK guys.
Basically i own a d15b7 turbocharged. useing a trust td05 turbo 16g, Greddy bov. Run on Bp Ultimate or shell ultra 98/100 octane, mobile 1 5w50 oil. Useing a microtec LT8 for management.

Haveing problems with my car dropping out alot while i am driving and the car in motion. Usually happenes when i change from a gear into neutral. or am slowing down to some lights or idoling.

Also seems to be very sensitive with the throttle. When it is pressed too quickly in a sharp motion while idoling (cold or warm) it seems to either bog down really bad or just stall. Throttle has to be eased on to pick up the revs.

Just changed my air filter to a new one, as i had a very dirty pod and may have been restricting air flow but did no help. Could it be something internally causeing this to happen ? or some sort or fuel or air restriction someonewhere ? anyone had a similar problem?

have you upgraded the fuel system since the turbo upgrade?

yes sorry, fuel pump and riseing rate fuel pressure regulator... running 8psi
probably not the best setup but if it were not capable of feeding the motor it would be showing problems from day 1. it has been nearly 2 years and this has been going on not all that long. possibly since start of year

does it blow smoke? clutch slip? idel rough?

does blow some smoke, not clutch slip and idoling isnt too bad but sometimes isnt constant

why are you running an fmu with a programable ecu?

everything really sounds like tuning issues... the fact that this is a somewhat new problem is a bit odd, but all the symptoms you're describing sound like an improper tune

your fuel pump.. does it happen only when u spoool it? Bc i had this problem in my wrx, after upgrading the turbo and half the engine it would stall after spooling it and not getting it into gear.

mmm i got it tuned by a quite respectable workshop located in brisbane called apc. yes an fmu is shithouse.... but cant afford to spend more money on a new map and injectors etc etc.

Basically is there anything other then turn that could be causeing this problem?

Look I know this isnt what your going to want to hear but go get some injectors and a retune.

Also, if you got the car done by APC, take it back and tell them what the problem is, what you have at the moment is a bandaid fix for a much larger problem. At the end of the day, it could cost you more then just injectors and a retune if your engine dies because it ran lean.

the microtech sure isn't a cheap unit... I still can't imagine why you would spend all that money on that unit, only to use an fmu and pretty much make it useless.

I still say everything sounds like issues with the tune

i know sounds stupid but different events and way things have worked out over time have made my situation / setup as this....

also Apc didnt build my car... they only tuned it... and honestly cant say it was the best $650 i have spent...

basically is there anything possible that can do this besides tune? any hardwear not functing correctly or at all?

It wouldnt have been the best $650 you have spent because the setup is not the best. Remember that your using an average setup, so dont expect spectacular results. Not trying to be harsh, but unfortunately thats just how it is...

To me it sounds like a fuel issue caused by the fmu, cant really see it being anything other then that.
