What are the most recommended mods for Accords?

Hi guys, obviously the Honda Accord range is the top-class range from Honda...it's suppose to be a luxury vehicle not a sports vehicle - although some may argue the Euro is the replacement for the Prelude... was just wondering, what are the top 3 mods most people would do for an Accord - any year for that matter...

I would like to start off...

1. Dump the suspension and get better, larger rims and wheels.

2. I would add some foglights onto the vehicle (if there's currently none).

3. I would get a nice bodykit for it!

any other suggestions, as I want to mod my 1998 Honda Accord V6-L.

In your other thread you rave about the ride quality of the v6-l and say the euro felt too harsh and bumpy for you... now you want to dump the suspension and get larger rims? This will be detrimental to the ride quality.

The v6-L is perfect stock why would you even want to change anything :rolleyes:

If I was to purchase a 6th gen V6 Accord this is what I would do. I've spent a couple weeks researching the vehicle.

1) New intake. Like I said in the other thread, the J series sounds awesome with a CAI or short ram at WOT.

2) Lower it a couple inches (as with every fricken honda - way too high!)

3) 17's.

4) Bodykit or just a lip kit.

5) Tints

Once that is done then look at headers, full exhaust replacement (cat back alone makes no performance difference), and other engine performance mods.

Don't dump. You'll reduce your ride quality and it will become harsh.

If you just get springs to dump it, then your shocks will leak in about a year's time and you'll have to replace them. So get lowered shocks as well.

2. Slight lowering - 1.5" max. anymore and it'll be a bitch to drive like now and Classy wheels (I decided to pair them up!)
3. Mild sound system that looks stock but isn't.

My 2c :) With a bit of sensibility and coordination, any accord can look great.

Yeah, I agree bro - sometimes simplicity with a touch of uniqueness does the job... I got a friend that has just modded his Euro...damn, it over did it...spend heaps of cash on the mods...lowered wheels, new sports suspension, huge rims, foglights, neon lights 'everywhere' and even had a new lip put on...yeah, it looks nice...but to me, it looks to modded...a bit like over-made up if you will...

Whereas I have another friend - he's got a 2000 Honda Accord V6 (I think)... all he did was change the rims (not lowered) - thinner tyres, put in a super sound system, got some tint done and wow - it looks mad...sometimes, simplicity does the job - agree peoples?

Thanks mate, I would have to agree with you 100%...

Either don't dump or dump it right with new shocks and suspension...a mate of mine did it the less professional or 'regardless' why and whilst in his car...oh my god, you're definitely right, it feels like you're in a rocket or a truck riding on rough rocks or something...

I would just get new rims and wheels...done, full top...cars are built for specific needs... Luxury, off-road or sports etc...don't bend the fender!

IMO - if you get aftermarket rims on an accord you must lower it. Accords (and almost all hondas) are way too high from factory.

5th gen was the worst, 6th gen a little bit better, 7th gen about the same as the 6th.
