whiteline sway fitted!! but..??

finally i got my sway bar(22mm adjustable) fitted yesterday, half year after i bought it!! lolz
anyway, da car(EG6) feels great, but it keep hitting my LCA...
anyone experenced da same thing??
if so, how did u fix da problem.

any help and suggestions will be much appraciated!!

Have a search - I'm pretty sure several people were having similar issues. Is it installed correctly i.e. not upside down?? From memory that was what caused one member's problems. A lot of people tend to get fooled by the Whiteline sticker and think it has to be the right way up...

Having said that, I have no issues at all with the 22mm swaybar on my EK.

yeh i cant imagine how that would work, mine sits a good 100mm above my lower control arm

With bigger sway bars, dont u need a kit to prevent subframe tear out?

Isn't subframe tearout more of a problem on the EK chassis? I thought the EG chassis wasn't too bad in comparison.

its the design of the *****line kit for the EK , that is bad in comparison to the ED/DC kits. It puts a weird leverage onto the upper subframe and can tear that out apparently. Mind you , its perfectly possible on ANY aftermarket swaybar kit since the subframe hasnt been designed for a thickness any bigger than stock...

it does sound as though it might be upside down. mine has plenty of clearance as it actually goes UP over the area of the LCA

On a stock car, the bar should clear the lca. Are you lowered? If it were hitting the exhaust then it would be more understandable, but not the lca. As others have said, check to make sure that it is not on upside down.

From what I understand, tearout is more of an issue on the ek's than the eg's - but that might be because most are using smaller sways on the eg platform?

Funny you say that Ben. IMHO I think that the whiteline kit (at least for the ek) is better built than most of the kits that come out of the US (other than the full reinforcement kits like asr etc). It appears that there is more substantial reinforcement with the whiteline hardware where it connects to the subframe and is dispersed over a wider area thanks to the plate that is supplied.

I only say this , in regards to the EK kit :) Other whiteline kits seem quite good IMO and other experiences.
If you look at the EK subframe kit , it places the swaybar U bolt contacts past beyond the actual subframe and the tie-bar/LCA mainbolt connection at the far point of the reinforcement. It looks to be a minimum "connection" and Im interested in the stats of this setup IE any failures compared to EG/DC etc

Interesting. I get your point, but I do wonder (at least in terms of pressure) that if the other two mounting bolts would offset the pressure being placed on the plate by the sway?

Ie, would pressure being placed on the two bolt holes on the left be offset against the two bolts on the right? Also, because the the u-bolts run right through the plate and subframe, I would be curious to see where tearout would occur with this kit.

Actually an upside down sway bar will hit both LCA and exhaust even on stock exhaust and suspension on DC's & EG's.

I got the sway too, it was hittin the exhaust one way, so i turned it up and had the same prob u have. coz a da stupid instructions, the only way you know it is upright is that the sticker is the right way up...

Anyway, i ended up gettin a smaller muffler... NICE of them to tell u how EASY it is to install!!
