I noticed my Euro is getting low on coolant. Are you supposed to purchase a pre - mix from Honda or just put water in. ;)

You shouldn't put normal water in as it can cause problems such as rusting/clogging.
You can use distilled water though as long as its just a top up, but its best to top up with proper coolant. Buy some honda coolant from a dealer since mixing different brands of coolant is not recommended.
Use ONLY honda coolant. It's different from the other brands of coolants. According to the service manual, other coolants can cause the cooling system to corrode. Since it is also premixed, don't add water.
Honda All Season Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 (P/N OL999-9001)
I just purchased the Honda 5 liter blue coloured coolant, and went to top up my coolant tank and found that at my last service the Honda Dealer replaced my coolant with a GREEN coloured coolant.
This green stuff was installed when they did a warrantee repair of a timing belt idler bearing.
Does anybody know if I can mix the green and the blue coolant together or has the dealer just put in the cheaper green coolant because they were paying.
as long as your service was done at honda, and that was where they put in the green coolant, than yes u can mix the blue and green.
if its not honda green fluid, then no i cant mix it.
hope that answers ur question.
The Green Honda Coolant is the old mixture, the Blue one is the new mixture, they are ok to mix, I mixed mine and drove it around for a while before I did a full changeover. The only downside is that it makes the colour of the coolant look like puke from a baby.
how much does it cost approximately for the coolant from honda?
and does it make much difference mixing old and new?
thanks in advance.
Most coolant comes with anti rust and anti freeze. Therefore if you mix it with water it still will not rust or corrode. A radiator is a radiator and I doubt the Euro's is made spacial and cant be filled with other coolants.
If the car is still new, go with the best, or honda products... but if its more then 5 years old.... dont bother...
It does not cause your radiator to rust or corrode. It causes particulates to precipitate in the coolant once you go through a few heating and cooling cycles in combination with exposure to the materials used to build the engine. The solids in the coolant will then wear down the water pump.
Honda sold me 5 liters for $40. They said they don't make a 1 litre. :(
