i guess it depends on the thickness of layering before it has any effect, road noise seems to really be a problem for you, sorry what cars have you owned before? maybe something is really wrong with your euro? id recommend you test drive another euro and see if maybe the noise is normal and your sensetive to it or if there is an actual problem with your euro.
The euros are a bit loud on road noise. Especially after market rubber,suspension and wheels. My crv is very silent in comparison and my Old magna sports considerably quieter again.
I reckon it would be worth a go if you can spare the extra mass.
You need to scour the plastic with a metal brush first so that the bitumen coating can adhere. Make sure that there is no silicone too.
i sound deadened my entire boot... lol absoluetly no cabin drone/noise from exhaust while cruising :)
i didnt use that paint on stuff tho (it only leaves a thin and uneven coating) instead i used stick on bitumen/aluminium panels... expensive, but theyre about 3mm thick :)
but yes i agree with suntzu... with aftermarket wheels (good sports tread) and sports suspension, the euro is quiet loud, saying that tho, so is my stereo :p lol
i am pretty sure its not just my euro... i mean if you taken a ride in a accord 01' or an accord 05' they are both quiet... i mean the euro isnt quiet... or maybe if u taken a ride in a 04' camry or a BA falcon (taxi) they are quiet... sat in my euro, afew euro before buying this and a colleague euro and all i can say is the car is noisy. i prefer the look, place of origin(Japan) and the performance of the euro over the accord and that is the main reason i choose the euro over the accord... so i am trying now to reduce the noise as much as possible... oh and just to add... the current civic is quieter than the euro as well or might just be they are newer...
you need to Autofoam the car's voids. This will stiffen the car up and help with NVH levels. And I don't mean cheapo expandafoam from Bunnings either. I thinking of doing mine once i source the correct weight product.
iF you fill it up with foam, you get more road noise. The stiffer it gets, the better it is at transmitting road noise.Quote:
