The Build Begins.

Hey fellas. i bought meself this honda yesterday. i couldnt resist the challenge of fixing this girl up. she sure has her faults, but at a price like that i couldnt resist. ive always loved hondas, so it was a pleasure to take this car off my mates hands. She didnt treat the car with the respect it needed, Although the engine is in good condition.

The project car specs..

Year: 1994
Model: Accord Vti-s
Kms: 215xxx
Modifications: None...............Yet
Colour: Green
Transmission: sports auto

Faults:
-Water windscreen jets need replacing
-Needs a new cd player
-Coin conpartment missing
-Ash tray Missing
-Central locking not working
-Air con has gas but not working
-Paint, needs attention (fades, cracks, scratches)
-Right tail light faded, will be an easy fix
-Bumper has coped a hit, and needs repairing
-Parkers/indicator bar lights need replacing
-Side mirrors cracked, and need replacing with better ones
-Cv's need replacing
-Bodywork needed (dents)
-Air con knob missing
-Side plastic strip on body loose
-Glove box lock has no screws
-Speedo not working, needs new cable

If anyone knows where i can grab the missing parts please let me know, and also anyone know what the cheapest outerbody respray price would cost me here in syd? what price am i looking at?

ill keep you guys updated with the build and restoration, if you guys have tips or advice i would like to hear it.

but im keeping this as my daily run around, i have another car coming up that im using as my performance project car (vl calais)

I would rather spend the yellow respray on the engine. imagine a yellow accord. no one would want to buy it off you.

Theres many ideas in my head right now.
What colour do u reccomend?
But my main concern is what " i " want, not the person buying it a few yrs down the track.

that is definatly a nice colour.

You say you couldnt refuse the car as it was cheap.
A re-spray will not be cheap... Either will all the mods you listed.

How much do you plan to spend on this car?
You should just leave it standard and run it around as a daily and throw your cash into your other project car.. That or make this your project car instead.

You will set yourself into debt real quick or have a half finished project....

well the only issue im having right now is the whole paint idea, i might not paint it till further down the track.

but the parts listed will be bought within this next month........

I have the same colour as what you have now. It is called sherwood green. I have a set of gold rims on mine with silver dish and its looks awsome.

But the best part is the h22a. Alot more power than the f22b.

How much all up did it cost you for your H22 swap??

totalli interested in the cost of h22a swap in syd too..around 4-5k drive in drive out?

When i purchased my car it already had this engine with it so i didnt go through the hassle of the swap. It is done very well and all the wiring is very neat and tidy. Half cut is prob between 3 - 4k depending on the engine. then i am sure you are looking at around $1500 to get it installed. This is just a guess.

Probably 5k and you have a 200-220hp.

When i get some money saved up i really would like more hp as i am used to the power now and i really want more.

h22a engine= $1500-$3000

h22a + auto tranny= $3000 mark

h22a + manual tranny- $3000-$3500

f22b uses same gearbox as h22a, but if your stuck with an auto you'd prob convert it to manual when u did the conversion.
installation-$1500-$2500 including wiring install.

the install is almost a direct swap, your far better off getting a lude front cut coz u can get the h22a engine mounts that u need. along with other components.

note- prices vary depending on km's, place of purchase, transport.

Yea I would consider saving your money from adding any performance based mod to an AUTO CD5. I had my stock exaust replaced (holes) with an aftermarket on my auto VTI-S and didn't notice one bit of difference in power.

Just my experience but I think you will find many others will tell you round here that any gains will be minimal at best.

if you want to just change the exhaust note, swap out the muffler for a different one and also choose a tip that suits your taste.

so i now only own a holden vl calais.
