Does any1 know if blue one is repairable write off or not?
I know in VIC you can dor a REVS check for a fee and it will tell you for sure. Be careful is my advice. I looked at several cars with shady pasts popping up everywhere. Like my friend said, it's too nice a car to buy a cheap dodgy one and never enjoy it. Get what you pay for rings true with these cars for sure. As I have mentioned before, a car I went to look at was one of the worst "fix ups" I have seen. I am a panel beater by trade but seriously, Stevie Wonder would have picked this one. Damn nice colour though.
#Most panels had been resprayed-poorly
#RH tailight scuffed.
#Filler/bog dust all in tool well in boot
#Radio door missing, and no name CD player just sitting in the DIN pocket
#Panel gaps all over the shop
And most worrying was the unbelievable engine knock at idle even though the car had just been driven.
See below link to car.

After looking at this car, I was so pissed off at wasting an afternoon my friend jumped on the web on his phone and we inspected another car close by and I bought it. Absolutely immaculate middle aged owner.
Be patient, and good luck!
James.
I can tell by LOOKING at those images, its got more than 86000KMs on the clock (seat wear and tear), and that its been repsrayed (front bumper looks different shade, but the key point is the matching colour toned HID washers - this feature wasn't available until 2004+)
EDIT: My old man was a panel beater for 35yrs. I know every trick in hte book. LOL. I used to come home from school as a kid ages 6-15, and strip car parts, sand back guards, rip out interiors, everything, but actual spraying. LOL.
yeah its all about patience it took me around 6months to find my S, thats because i wanted a MY06+ and the newer models are real hard to find.
^ Welcome.
thanks .. im on s2ki too under a diff username: mjb120
hey man im from that area, yeh its had a front end accident, pretty shure he jupmed a gutter in it.. had 20's on it and was dumped, just recently brought to stock...
it's too bad, that nurburgring blue is a really nice colour! I've only ever seen one on the road actually...
The color got my attention for sure I love it. But man the engine noise was worse than my ZC in the 87 CRX!!!!!
hey mate, i called the guy already. i was interested too.. its a repairable write off b4 they purchased it.
anyone have info on this one?
http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...16&sort_type=2
anyone with a +25hp chip should be avoided I reckon lol.
Its been on ebay for a while now.
25 hp chip? Interesting..................
LOL, not really.
hey guys,
i want to see if anyone here has more info or knows more about this particular S2000.

sometimes i think it might be too good to be true (age, price and kms).
much appreciated
I bought mine with the same amount of KM's for the same price, in the same colour, 2 years ago, for a 2yr older model.....
sounds like its a great deal!
still want to hear from those who might have considered this particular one, reasons and what not. im still not ready to purchase yet, but reality is creeping closer :)
that isnt a worry for me, also noticed the standard black plastic in the air dams have been replaced too..
chip stones = bargaining tool for me
I was having a flick through carsales the other day after looking at that link.
I see a few members cars listed for sale. beaver over at s2ki, and a few others.
I thought this one seemed like a members car, but I'm not sure who's? Seems like a good deal with a few mods anyway.
http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...9195&D=5939195
i been watching the market since last year actually...
how much do u reckon i can push him to???
The blue one has been in carsales since last october and the price was 40000 then he dropped it a while ago to 36500 and now 33000 .. it might be a bargain if it's in good condition.
I say go ahead and check it out.
what is your budget. my 2006 is for sale. its done 36k. and it hs a lot of mods. PM me if you are interested. or e-mail me. typ88r@hotmail.com
just to update you guys.
i went and checked out the car today, and i didnt find it to be that good.
the car was purchased from Pickles about 2yrs ago as it is.
i checked on Revs, and the details dont seem to be matching. i took the vin from the chassis (which on the RTA site, doesnt match with the plate number too!!)
im definately giving this car a miss, since the owner wasnt much help with info.
He didnt even return my call, so i'm glad I didnt bother making the trip to sydney to check it out.
Dayne
if your test driving an S, be sure to try and take it onto the freeway. Reason for this is that you get to check if the rear is vibrating (worn out shafts) and to see if the car can drive in a straight line at fwy speed
i thought the s2k market was dead? seems pretty hard to sell one atm.
I think thats cause yours is red to be honest, I would be interested as I'm in the market, but its not a colour im after.
Dayne
Hi guys, I seem to be similar to some here. I'm also in the market for one too.
It seems to me red is a colour out of flavour atm, so bargains there but white, blue & black tend to sell at a premium due to colour. Silver is somewhere in the middle.
Anyway, colour isn't a big issue for me. I'm after something clean, straight without an accident history with about 80ks on it. I'm not interested in modifieds and year doesn't worry me too much as long as the car's been well maintained. My question is, what should I be budgeting on? There seems to be such a large price variation it throws me a bit.
Would I be right in assuming :- (around 75ks & tidy)
'99 - $26,000
'00 - $28,000
'01 - $30,000
minus $2g for red, plus $2g for white, blue & black! Price would be fit for silver I'd guess.
Am I aiming too low?
I think you're aiming to low... but i'm an owner, and I want the prices to be higher for obvious reasons, so we're somewhat biased LOL.
The red shits on the Silverstone IMO, but the 3 colors I'm not a fan of, are the red, yellow and Suzuka Blue (sky blue color, very rare).
But from a non biased point of view, I think that sounds about right unfortunately. Your prices could requiring adjusting since you want to purchase an S with less than 100K however. This is becoming a bit more of a premium these days.

If your not in a rush you'll find the right one with abit of patience, know exactly what your after and stick to it, I didn't, I changed my mind everytime I saw a different s2k !
I waited 4 months saw probably 50-60 s2k's went up for sale and get sold.
They are going quick especially with summer comming.
But for those prices your after and with low km's around 75km's you'd probably be paying a few $k more.
4 months of looking around and I found a black 99' with 86,000km's completely stock $28k so it's not impossible !
Good luck !
with one year rego. might i add pascoe lol
Well I drove from Canberra to Melbourne today & back to look at a black 01 S2k with 62000kms. The guys prepaired to go to 35k, and its been hit in the rear, which requires a new rear bumper + paint, and the car has the awful clutch buzz! There are some dreamers out there, and I think hes one of them!
I'm sick of looking, so i'm seriously considering an Evo 8 atm.
Dayne
Cheers guys for the comments. I guess I'm low balling...but will be flexible for the right car. I had forgotten about some of the other colours like the yellow and sky blue. Yellow does sound appealing! Any ideas of colour concentrations? i.e. how many of each colour were imported by Honda? Just an interesting titbit.
BTW here's an interesting factory colour...

Don't think OZ got that...at least I haven't seen it!
We never got the burghandy color no. New Zealand did. I believe it was offered to us in 2006+ because I'm sure I remember seeing one for sale in a Sunshine Coast dealership.
i just sold my delsol and looking at buying a s2000 so guys update with some link to s2ks for sale plesae..
How much you wanna spend Hass?
ay hass were in da same boat man im just tryin to sell ma dc5 (its manuel old q2bmyn crx)
hahaha lol.
um im willing to spend up to 30k for the right car...
they are 16? inch JDM only optional BBS forged wheels.
Can pick them up for about $1200 landed + rubber.
Im prepaired to spend about $33,000 for the right car as well. Just really hard to find one. Might up my budget and buy an Boxster.
Dayne
Atleast the Boxster range held its price better...... 'badge' market at its finest.
hey i seen those rims on a silver S2000 thrusday arvo in smithfield area, they arnt all that imo
Yeah, thats whats keeping the price of S2000's up high as well. Uh well, I'll keep waiting and hopefully the right one comes up at the right price!
Dayne
Up high?
They've crashed in value over the past 12-18 months something cronic.
$38500 for a 2000 model S2000 is a joke mate, which is what a few of them are advertised at.
Redbook values 2000 S2000s for somewhere in the high 20's to low 30's.
Dayne
$38,500 was market value for a 2000 model S2000 2 and a half years ago. I should know, thats what I paid for mine. LOL.
do you think s2000's wil hit the 20 and under range??? i hope not anyway :(
One already did.
Silverstone, 180,000kms, 99 model, $20K on carsales a month back.
Up here a dealer I know took a trade in for $17K.:zip:
I think value for money wise, they will hold steady for the next year or 2. The higher over priced ones will drop from mid to high 30's to mid to high 20's and lowe 30's.
all this talk in value guys. at the end of the day, a car will sell depending what people are willing to pay for it, and how desperate the seller and the situation he/she is in to get rid of the car.
considering its age, and the "coolness" factor, as more people will try and get their hands on one, maybe the younger generation, the same will go for people trying to get rid of them, the younger generation again maybe.
since everybody here is looking for good deals and where to buy things i thought this would be a good thread to start. so im creating this thread so that people can post any good deals etc. If its helps your fellow s2000 member post it up. This i hope will be a great resource and allow ozhondas s2000 members to take advantage on good deals....;)
does this comply with the terms and conditions?
i'll start AP1 jdm front bumper on yahoo japan auctions
http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w29501761
s2k market suckssss my mate has had his car advertised for about 2 months now and still no sale ... in fact no1 has even come seen the car! just ppl low balling ...
wouldnt mind paying 20k for one. :P
hahaha i might chuck mine onto carsales in summer or once it gets closer see if i can get 35..
if anyone is wanting a white one pm me..
seems that alot of buyers for the S now are p platers, p platers are the ones who usually low ball. So i doubt you will get $35k for it, but its always worth a shot.
has anyone been out to see any of the 26k silverstone ones on carsales?
