how do i stop moisture getting in my aftermarket tail lights

hi guys i recently fitted some aftermarket tail lights and everytime it rains moisture appears in them, and it takes about 3 days for it to dry how do i stop moisture geting in them?

means they are a leak where water can get through :S?

take them out and use silicone to seal around the edges... that should work...

yup as above, its the gaskets leaking. I went to clark rubber and got slightly thicker foam and traced the old gaskets to replace them, in addition to that I also siliconed the gap between foam and taillight so its near impossible for it to leak.
btw..if you do decide to replace the gasket by getting foam, dont go too thick as it will make the taillights stick out noticably.

where do i get silicon from?

also where on the head light is the gasket?

im guessing you either bought angel eyes or "jdm black housing" or one of those ebay headlights.

this is my opinion before you go opening headlight assemblies.

im pretty sure those ebay headlights have a rubber cover that covers the headlight bulb.
especially with angel eyes, and you ahve a red and black cable coming out of that rubber cover.

CHECK THAT YOUR RUBBER COVER IS SITTING PROPERLY.

on my eg i had angel eyes and rubber bit was left open. cold weather on the outside and engine bay heat caused condensation.

and if its one of those twist on ones. check that you have a rubber seal on it.
and make sure its clicked in properly.


Note: this doesnt mean you wont need to break open your headlight and R n R it. im just suggesting the cheaper option first =]

gutter silicon also works. just rem there should b a small hole at the bottom for moisture to escape

dry them up first try to reseal them, and check any leaks coming out.

yeep use silicone would be good ! ;)

try and use the silicone that sets clear... they usually use it for bathroom... or you could use the auto silicone which dries black.... that could work...

think a hairdryer from the outside wil dry them up? they are stil got moisture in them since yesterday and havent even looked like drying
