at around 7800 rpm in 5th, you should get around 235-240km/h in a stock ITR with exhaust only....... on a race track ofcourse! The throttle still had a little more in it.
cool just wanna see if the box will do what i need of it down the qtr mile.
thanks!
you wont need 5th down the quarter, you are only in forth for a second or two.
i'm near the end of 4th on my b16 box at about 180km/hr
on the ITR box i'd say i would need 5th
So you'll be doing 200km/h+ within 400m... cool
when i attended festival of sports cars at bathurst 08' i managed 231km/h with just basic i/h/e down conrod, and that was about all it had...
180km/hr - 111.85MPH..... so your saying your passing down the 1/4mile and trapping at those MPH? Im pretty sure your not.
nah atm my mph is 105-6mph, which is 170ish km/h and my ET is consistentily 14.0, 14.1, 14.0 etc.... down the qtr.
With the shorter box i'm just saying i'm prob gonna be in 5th, especially with a bigger turbo on the way
he might be trying to do a 10 sec pass, what are your mods?
actually a 12s pass on street tyres will be fine for me. i'd be happy with that
with my dc2r b18c7 and stock itr gear box
i went 12.88 @ 113mph i was bouncing off the limiter in 4th gear bout 2 rev bounces before i crossed the line.............it didnt help that i was running 205/50/15 (23.2inches)
the height of your tyres can solve your problem if ur worried about shifting into 5th gear...hence im looking for 225/50/15 which will bring it upto 24inches....
cool, with my car being a b16 my cut-off is 8,200rpm, so i'd have to shift as your b18c7 has a higher rev limiter than mine.
so looks like i'll be in 5th no doubt.
Can you fit 225/50/15 without rubbing?
what ecu do u have limbo? OEM?
Upgrade valve springs and rev it out. Is there a reason why you want to upgrade to a ITR box?
nah i got a PFC but i've set the rev limit to 8,200 so i don't kill the motor.
looking at getting another head also so i can rev it out abit more.
Looking at the ITR box for the LSD and the short ratios.
I've seen some others seem to get good times with the ITR box. Also i drove Haks ITR box and it felt alot more responsive than mine
ITR box is a good upgrade limbo, let us know how you go.
yeah will do. Currently i'm prob gonna LSD a Integra VTIR box cos i can't seem to get my hands on an ITR box.
Based on the honda manual the 2 boxes are almost identical except for the slightly longer gears and the 4.4 FD
O in relation to what my mods are b16a (stock) GT28R@10PSI with 162kw atw.
Got a new manifold on the way Full ram ceramic coated. prob get another 5-10kw out of the car. Also a GT2871R on the way, prob get about 180kwatw by that time. Then a new head on the way. Hopefully i'll be able to tweak it to 200kw atw by that time.
Don't want too much more as i drive it daily.
A 12s street car is all i'm after. Once i get that right i'm gonna track it and enjoy the car
Sounds like your gonna need the LSD with that many killa wasps!
There are a few ITR boxes around, search and you will find. Have you thought of just putting a LSD into your B16a box? or do you really want the shorter ratios?
so far i haven't seen any around and i've been looking.
To put the LSD into my b16a box its gonna be harder, FD issues from what i worked out.
I'm gonna go b18c2 box that i have access to as the internals are identical. Might have slightly longer ratios, but not much choices at the moment.
While you have the gearbox open and putting int he LSD... you should also look into a DC2r FD... or even aftermarket.
yeah but i'm gonna try the longer ratios first and see how it goes. SHould prove less shifting and on the boosted engine it might be better
hmmmmm. I'm curious now.... what is the top speed SUPPOSED to be.... I've had mine up to 270km/h
I got mine to 220kph 2 years ago, I've heard of ppl hitting 265ish limiter in 5th. That's with a flat shift to 5th
Must have been a tailwind and downward slope and power of dreams for 270

longest 20 seconds of my life, waiting for it to blow at 8500 haha
I reckon a standard itr on a long ass road with no passengers and 1/4 tank of fuel would do 230
When I did 220kph it was on a straight road at about 1am on a flat road with a 120kg passenger as a witness. Tyres were 195/55/15. Only mod was a SRI. Car was sitting at about 7200-7500 rpm
ITR does
60kph @2000rpm
120kph @ 4000rpm
180kph @ 6000rpm
240kph @ 8000 rpm
270 kph @ 9000rpm ?
i topped out in my completely stock dc2r at about 215-220
I pushed 225kph in a Full ihe dc2r with a passenger. I was very scared car was going nuts
I only stopped at 220 coz I got para all of a sudden. But car defs had another 30kph in it.
in my type s, i tried going as fast as possible.. i got it up to 220/230? and started slwoing down cos of corner ahead.... wish i vcould remember what RPM i was at though.
so how much do you guys pay to do these high speed runs?
Sean.
I don't do high speed runs?
& If it i did, that's none of your concern now is it?
& As i said, if i ever was to attempt it again, i would be trying it again on a piece of private land which is a track or a runway.
High speed runs serve no purpose to a car like the DC2R or DC5R, there built to go on the track, not 1/4 miles but if you have the $$$$ you can make it do whatever you wish.
lmzoozzzzzzzzzzozozozozootrolololllll
just wanted to know how much it cost man......
because I don't want to speed on public roads
nomsaiynnnn
regards
sean
As i said, i don't know.
Haven't been to one.
Jus' saying.
Stop trolling.
Bye.
it was definitely 270, my little sister has been sitting at 250 in it.... with the 15's on... when i put the 17's on it, seams i can only push 240.
it was the Display Honda, and I have no idea what they've done to it.
the 1500km stretch between Alice Springs and Darwin... not as much fun now that they have a speed limit on that road :(
monash, dat downhill bit after springvale road heading out to the sticks.
I rweckon some of the claims here have been done there....
