BYP Civic EG B20vtec WSID 12.9@108mph

Went down to the drag strip yesterday @ WSID to test the new engine out to see if it can back up its power figures on the Dyno. Let me tell you now, its no dyno queen, it runs the MPH that we wanted.

Even though abit dissapointed that the dyno session the night before yeilded lost in power due to header change, the car still hit the 108mph

Remember this is from a B-series (B20 Vtec). Rev cut was set at 9000rpm for the night. The gearing is ideal for the drags last night, hanging @ 9000rpm crossing the line in 4th.

Best time for the night was 12.90 @108mph. The car ran 4 12.9 sec passes at the same MPH.

Car was in circuit trim, circuit alignment (-ve camber) and running Khumo's semi slicks (v700)

ive got the camera mounts, didnt have time to run in the house and get it cause richard was waiting for me already :)

Congrats boys, I think if everyone knew how much of a basic package it is they would be even more impressed with the time it has run, I am sure mid 12's with the other headers would be easy enough. :thumbsup:

We would love it to be a drag car, but yesterday was just to check the MPH. Not fuss on the ET. 12's was just a bonus yesterday.

Should be hell fun the on the circuit now with this powerplant

lol no it just requires anything flat to mount to . sunroof just happened to be easy on my and rays vti. Next WSID im there just ask for fun.

Yes only 2000rpm. i was driving it off the line. there was no point in me launching it any harder as it was on circuit semi slicks. Car weigh 937kg without me.

With a standard B20 CRV bottom end rebuilt by Dave with a type R head, we achieve a PB of 13.4 @103 mph in a type R (dc2) Probably looking at around the 130-135kw with the right bolt-ons. There is heaps of potential from a B20vtec.

I'd love to see a power curve beside a k20 curve... I'm assuming that outright power would be a slight win to the B20, that torque would also be earlier and greater in the B, but that the K motor would be lighter and stronger ???

When does VTEC cut in???

Does anyone have the power curves??? A K20A only makes 150ish at the flywheel so without tuning and breathing mods it would be unlikely to surpass 125kw atw stock I guess!?!

The car wont be going to the drags on full slicks, just as it is for circuit.

The car will be doing it shakedown at Wakefield very soon, keep posted for result
