GD3 or GE?

its an 04 vti
probably need to hook a wire up behind the dash? ask benjamin he might know
hmm whos benjamin hahha help benjamin help lol
hmmm i might just do the single din conversion lol
Easier to just get a new HU. More exp, but much easier. Only way to get an iPod AUX is to DIY wiring through the back. Messy but works.
more hexxy alright $200+ for the oem jdm double din HU thingy, then the headunit it self, why didnt honda make a STD mp3 player !!!!!!!!!!
That's why many people not satisfied with the stock Jazz sound system. At least that's more motivation to do a full upgrade. :D
Thanks, tis mine. :) No sound upgrade in mine for now, but I plan to have a full system within the next few months. Just doing research at the moment.
ya, upgrade to aftermarket HU with std JDM double din will be easier!
There are illustrated plans on how to wire up an aux cable to the connections at the rear of the standard head unit. Will cost about $10 for the required materials, less if you have the appropriate cable already. Hardest bit is physically popping off the head unit trim. Otherwise you need little dexterity or electrical know-how.
i remember i refer to the guide in ausjazz to setup my aux input last time.
but ausjazz server is down at the moment
i make a few of those aux cable last time, i remembered i still have one left, left me flip through my boxes at home...
Very large pain in arse to make an AUX cable. Once you buy a double DIN fitment kit and get a normal headunit, you'll find the Jazz is actually quite good for audio. Just make sure you deaden the cr@p out of the front doors.
hey dude still needing a hand on aux port. i got mine done DIY. Just go dick smith and buy a female socket (the type designed to screw onto a flat plate) its 45 cents. if you noe much about desktop computers you should noe of the plugs which connect the hdd, on, light, power switch onto a computer. grab 3 of these plugs off any old comp (make sure they have wires running off the ends) go and solder the ends of the wires onto the plug. next you get a drill and drill a suitable hole into a desired mounting location. (for mine i put it just beneath the centre console, under the temp control. Mount the female audio socket and connect the 3 plugs onto the back panel of the cd player. If you live in Brisbane come by and i'll show you what i mean.
hey, mate, but u selling ur jazz, right? coz saw it on carsales, u change ur plan now to keep it?
yea, especially with the ge which came out, the price of a gd just dropped significantly. I'm still looking to sell it though, you should buy it and have a jazz collection - red n blu ftw! :P i took the audio system out and is currently running nicely in my room. I might keep an eye out for a tru tech amp and give dyn 3 ways a try in a jazz. not ne time soon but maybe towards the end of the year.
nice to hear about that mate, what is your next car in your mind? Tru Tech + dyn 3 should be very impressive combo, i hope can see it soon.
can any link me to an illistrated DIY for the aux for a GD3, thanks.
o and also does any1 know bout the usb/aux input for the factory GD3 headunit that was floating round ebay while back, was a bolt in thing that went into the back of the factory headunit with out anycutting.
yes, but from memory, there's 4 pins, you gotta noe which one to plug into, there's 3 active and 1 inactive. the three are (-ve, +ve right, + left) i forgot the order. When this is plugged in, the head unit will automatically detect the port and you can then switch between cd and aux. yay

thats awesome^^^^^
was it difficult to do???
clean looks man, u see the screw around the outside of the plug, that acts as a retainer which holds the plug onto the plate. it came with the plug - just drill a perfect fit hole and screw it on, take 2 mins.
kool thanks :)
