I got one in my car. Apexi Auto Timer (Pen Size).
Very easy to hook up unless you have an alarm tho.....
Go for Apexi, you won't go wrong.
Very Easy To Hook Up Unles U Have Alarm?
Hmm..i've Got An Alarm...
So What Happens Next?
How's Da Greddy One?
Auto timers are simple to install, just a few wires - ground, power, ignition and hand brake switch (this is the most basic).
If you've got an alarm, it's not so much a problem, rather a hassle. you have to wait for the timer to turn the car off before you can switch the alarm on. But i think there are timers that can turn your alarm on when the the car turns off.
hmm..well im not too confident about that alarm bit..
do u think it'll be possible to install by myself? cos im planning to buy an auto timer from ebay...
also does the timer connect to the igition? or the ECU?
if you've got some knowledge of electronics and know how to use a multimeter, it shouldn't be hard to connect yourself.
You connect it to the ignition. all the timer does is supply power to the ignition even after the key is turned off.
If you have to wait for the timer to turn the car off then switch alarm on... what's the point to have a timer?
The Timmer will connect to your ignition.
Your alarm will work with the timer, at least mine work.
becarefull
the immobiliser can fry the timer circuit..
if not connected properly
Turbo timers are not very hard to hook up, but basically if you have a decent alarm with shock sensors, imob, door protection etc etc ... it gets a bit complicated.
the shock sensors have to be turned so they are not set off by the vibs from the motor running and the imob has to be setup so that it arms with your turbo timer has kicked off
well after what has been mentioned about the alarm system..
im very worried about this...
i want to get someone to intall for me
but does anyone here know , whos professional at this stuff in MELB?
any alarm installer should know how to hook up a turbo timer to your alarm
I still don't see the point of a timer in a N/A car even a turbo car..... just take it easy a few K's from where you are going to stop and turn the car off..... if in doubt wait in the car with it running for a couple minutes.
yeh it shouldnt cost very much, i got mine installed for $80 and its runnin fine, no hassels with the alarm what so ever :)
Apexi timer is the best!!
werd. But i admit i've got one, but it came with my alarm. so no choice in the matter.Quote:
