nice write up claymore. i need to do this also.
so the stock plug is an NGK: part number IZFR6K13
is this a iridium plug? where is the cheapest place to get it?
I suggest you go for Hot wires from SUN Auto, so many reviews from optionfans about it.
oh wait, just checked the service manual more closely, the 1.5 vtec model only needs the sparks to be replaced every 100,000km, i can wait a lil longer.
I got NGK platnium ones for $25 from supercheap but the also had platinum/iridium ones for $83 or $63 dont remember..
by changing spark plugs for jazz you feel nothing.
waste of $ better spend $ on hot wires and Hot Inazma.
snap!
gmonkey - the ngk iridium was $25 for all 4 ? or each?
kongfu - some ppl change plugs because they are required in the service schedule.
sorry wasnt NGK just looked was bosch and yeh all 4 platniums were $25, iridiums were $63
and yeh im just changing plugs cause im reaching 100k kms so about time..
I do not want start any arguement or fight here, just borrow what you have said at #2,"Couldn't have searched very hard.......", please go to http://www.sun-auto.co.jp/html/pro_0...otwires013.htm and see if you could find GD3 L15A from the back.
here is the online shop I got the hotwires, it is called Rakuten, similar as yahoo auction japan. http://item.rakuten.co.jp/carshop/10011572/
Could you take a photo of the hotwires in your engine bay? I want to see if they come with the coil pack on each wire.
Will be interested to find out how did he install it, because the Jazz has the coil pack on top of each plug, so the length of the high voltage section is very short.

I wish I took clear shot before I took them off the car, but, so far I could only find these two pics. Here we go.

pics was taken 2008.08.02.
and I have already tool them off the car

To be honest, I dont really get it, why, I just try to share some info some experience with ppl, why ppl think I am lying? is it because I am accidentally selling one? but actually I am the only one who has use it who has the real experience dealing with the real product, why ppl without this sorts of first hand experience doubt about mine?
Aarong, I've already sent a request to delete what claymore left on my for sale thread, no matter what, I believe the thing he write should keep in pm, right?
if anybody doubt about my honest or try to advertise here for my for sale stuff, you could call TOP ONE mechanic shop, ask Dedy. He is the one who put it on, and take it off my car. He is the very same mechanic who did Noodleman's K20 sweep in his yellow jazz as well.
Found out how to install it. Can't say I agree that you will get any benefits from doing it this way because the wire length is increased from the coil pack, which then takes away the benefit of having coil-over-plug. But I can't say that it is impossible to fit onto the L15. :)

wouldnt better coilpacks be money better spent?? but yeh claymore ive seen jazz wiring kits before, they exist for what reason i dont know because you would get a greater resistance from them than what you would get from whats stock...:p
p.s. i know what you mean ssd by oppinionistic people, you bring info to the table but no thats not on their knowledge so it must be wrong:p
Quote:
unnecessary, redundant, waste of money EVER well maybe the vortex generator is worse
vortex generators are a good invention, on a plane that is :p
Claymore, like I said in the PM, I have great respect of your knowledge not only you showed in ozhonda, but also in Ausjazz and even fit freak. and again, I would not like or intend to have or cause any fight here. But, just one thing I dont really get it, what make you so confident about something you never experienced? I said in the previouse post, two of the pics is taken before I took the hotwires off, I do not take particular pic of them for show off, and I do not know I will need those kind of photo to proof that there is actually a hotwires product existed for GD3 L15 engine.
WHAT do you mean IF that is my car?! A lot of members of AUSjazz in Sydney know me and my car. And as I said, I have already took it off, how could you assume I could take 3 minutes to take my engine cover off and take SEVERAL PHOTO? Am I try to being smart or something? I just want to share with people experience about this product, as for me, I don't know that much theroy as you do, but I could tell people that I do feel pedal response increase with combination of hotwires and HKS superfire m35i spark plugs.
why cant you just adjust your attitude a little bit, and try to believe sth/trust sb about sth you have not experienceed before, that way, you could earn more respect than now.
no offence to ya claymore, but i took as if you meant the car in the photos wasnt his..:p also what your jazz can't do 300 knots?? myn can.. its got a sticker that makes it go faster!! YEH BOIS!! +8hp..
when you first said vortex generator i just laughed and instantly thought of those ebay turbo/supercharger scam things.. anyone bought one of those on here:p??
Stay on topic please. This is about sparkplugs / ignition system. Not about respect or if the car is his or not.
seems to happen to me a lot on here lol :P
I cant stop laughing loud~lol.
I havent sleep since I wake up 1pm yesterday, been busy sorting things out for my fit. After I saw what Claymore posted, cant help to scan the instruction and take some pictures from the parts I have at hand. Claymore, please, show yourself some respect and accept that sometime it is virtue to admit one's mistake, no matter how talent he is.

and here is the picture I took with help of my friend, it just answer Claymore's question about
"NOT A CHANCE IN THE WORLD THAT THOSE WIRES PLUG DIRECTLY INTO THAT SPARKING UNIT.
And what are you going to do with the sparking units removed from their stock location HHHMMM? If they don't bolt back into the stock location then THAT MEANS THEY HAVE TO BE MODIFIED AND ARE NOT PLUG AND PLAY what are you saying you left them loose in the engine compartment and allowed them to flop around all over the engine?????? What did you do with the EXCESS length of wire????"

and only one thing Claymore is right about which is "
Stop misleading potential buyers by saying they are NOT plug and play and do require MODIFICATION....."
The question about how could he be so confident with his knowledge about something he probably never seen in real life, especially those knowledge happen to be not 100% correct?
I guess there must be LOTS of english problem with my expression and for sure, Claymore, you are welcome to point it out for me, as you are language guru as well.
One more time I would like to say, IF you are seriousely about proving this one need modification but not plug and play, rather than you seems to prove the correctiness you always have, you are more than welcome to come to sydney see it for your own eye, and If it is proven that I am wrong and I am keep misleading people about this product, I WILL PAY FOR ALL YOUR EXPENSES including flying ticket.
mods please help me make this thread sticky please if that is possible, thanks
I knew you gonna use DEFINITION differences between plug&play and modification, and sure you did.
No futher comment to you or your arguement, everybody could see for their own opinion.
Claymore is right, I do electrical engineering as my course and quite frankly I was shocked that a reputable company such as Nology makes hotwires for a DIRECT ignition system (DIS)??? That's the most ridiculous invention EVER! I can tell everybody now that DIS is the best ignition system you can possibly put on a car. BUT if you were to change the individual coilpack with an aftermarket one (there is one but couldn't remember the brand) then it's a different story. As Claymore said, ADDING wires will increase resistance. This was the sole reason why cars have phased out hotwires in favour of DIS system.
Point is: no point modifying your ignition system if the car has adopted DIS system
Tuning companies are smart, but some are too smart that they have become unbelievably smart to con people to put useless things on their cars.
