all i see is the fuel pump? is it around there?
fuel filter is an "in tank" filter. oh and when changing it you will need some parts of the exisitng filter to be transferred to the new filter so be careful when you remove those parts
Yup, that's it. The fuel filter is in between the fuel pump and that fuel pump cover. Have fun changing it. When I did, I had fuel all over the boot even after I depressurised the tank and ran the engine til it died on its own. Then, separating the fuel filter from the fuel pump is a task in itself because of the wiring, fuel level sender and plastic components. I snapped 1 wire off accidentally. haha.
When you replace the fuel filter, remember to coat all rubber parts with engine oil before putting it back together.
^ i don't remember having that many issues with mine, however that was some time back now. i just discounted it and took it out of my boot. mine you i did have a almost empty tank of fuel
fark that. ill just pay someone to do it..
omg didnt know it was that much of a pain in the ass.
just thought it would be as simple as my ek..
thanks aaron n david
what service was the fuel filter suppose to be changed at?
daz, i think it's suppose to be done at 80k, however it isnt stated in the service interval.
np du
^ hehe, dw i always have bad luck when i diy, im jsut not very good at it
i haven't done my tappet adjustment, should really do one soon
fk i am nearing the 80k mark only 2k mileage to go before i need to get it changed.
do you know if your required to get the car lifted up on the hoist for 80k service?
otherwise i'll take it back to HA to do it.
Don't need it on a hoist. Just take off the right front wheel to access the crank so you can turn the cams to the right position to carry out the valve clearance check.
yeah i need a tappet adjustment too
shouldnt be much for a mechanic to do, saves hassles and time since its an internal fuel filter.
When i got it done from hanny's, didn't take them long at all during the service.
