Hey there people...just purchased a set of rims..and i have a choice betweens Kumho or Toyo tyres..not sure of what the models are but the sizes are 195/50/15....Any reviews or recommendation of which of the two brands to get?? in terms of lifespan and performance...most of the time im driving on the hume highway so pretty much just grannying around...thanks guys

well..wont be anything crazy ..not much of a racer as i dont have enough time or money to do so..just want something realiable...gets me from a-b without having the problem of worrying that i might slip in wet weather so on and so on..mainly diving to the city and back on the hume highway from liverpool..so i need tyres that are realiable mainly.so 2 for toyo so far

I'm also using the T1s, exellent tire for grip and life. A tiny more road noise than usual tyres but its like that for most street and performance tyres.
Size i'm using is 215/45/15
i havnt used toyos before, i have been through 2 sets of khumo, they were on my civic when i bought it and again on my euro, they worked really well in the dry but they were very questionable in the wet, they were ecsta supra in both cases, 21540R17 and 23540R18's

but i got toyo proxes at the fronts now, cant afford running baller tyres, now that my cars lowered bit more
best in the wet are Falkens hands down for road tyres :D
What options do we have for cheaper tyres for a non-high performance daily?
Toyo T1S and T1R seem a waste for my piece of shit EG, especially at $170 a pop.
All I really want is a good looking tread pattern, long lasting, quiet and better than average wet and dry performance.
I'm a tad scared running 215/45/15 T1, because I've heard because the T1S has super soft side walls, and the wide tyre profile;
a) I'll get bad fuel economy
b) it'll wear really quick
Is this true?

I'm running Toyo TEO Plus.
They are very quiet.
They've got good grip in wet and dry, although I wouldn't mind if they were a bit better.
Mine are on 14 inch rims so I would say a lower profile sidewall may improve performance.
For the T1S I say the sidewall isn't super soft at all.I used them,215/45/15 for 2 hrs on the track ,2 lots of 1hr sessions and they were great! I was very impressed.And for the abuse I put them through the tread is a lot.The sides still have plenty of meat,I thought they would be a bit more worn than what they were after track session but they came up solid.I know there's better in term of quality but I only paid $80 each delivered of Taleb when they where cheap.They are a great tyre but at $170 I would check what else is out there.The good ones may also wear quicker on the track I reckon??Quote:

I've got the 215/45/15 from taleb as well. U won't find better tyres for the price ($90).

for dailies on my old 17s the maxxis did the job in wet, dry and rough surfaces *cough* mountain hills *cough* lol :D
if u r going to drive like a granny, then cheap tyres will do, granny drive doesnt require much performance.
but if u like a bit more grip, then go for toyo, proxe4 is basic in proxe family.

well there will be times where i will give it a little dumpage...after after experiencing what happens when i had shit chinese tyres combined with rained...i never wanna go down that path ever again..but yeh..went with toyos=] thanks guy

imo kumhos are pretty decent for its price.. if u do get kumhos i'll recomend the ku31.. but above all toyos > kumhos

but t1s are lot better in wet
I have toyo's and in the wet the are awesome, way better then when I had falken's.,
Toyo would probably be the best tyre on the market along side pirelli.
Skip to 2024 and what do people think of Kumho? Any recommended variations?
I'm currently running r888r's which are sticky as sh*t on a sheet but I'm not in a position to fork out for a new set. I hardly drive the CRX these days so (my wife) can't justify it.
