17x9.5 +15 with 275/40 and 17x8.5 +30 with 245/40:

I run this setup. It is nearly perfect for me. I don't recommend you run anything remotely similar.
A 17x8 +35 fits nicely on a DC5 with a 225/45. No guard rolling required generally.
yeah i dont wanna roll my guards just yet.. thanks mate... Nice DC5
I have 17x8 +35 with 225/45 (As chargeR reccomended above).
I haven't had to do any body work to get these to fit. But you'll need to put some camber on the rear (I'm not sure how much is on the rear of my car). But I don't get any scrubbing, and there was a noticeable differance in performance from my old rims (17x7 +40 225/45)

is drop with coilovers, or stock. cos i haven't bought my coilovers yet..
Mine is dropped on coilovers.
I really need to drop the front a tad... and more camber :p
yeah well thats my plans atm.. after i do performance mods.. thanks for the help
hey i found some that i like but they are 17x7 and im not sure what the offset is..
would the 225/45/17s still fit nicely with the 17x7s?
with 17x7s you'll probably be only to go as wide as 215
oh really. ok thanks : )
on a dc5 you have the option of running a 17x8 rim, so you may as well make use of that.
what rims were you looking at out of curiousity?
umm i have a few one in mine.. looking at Tenzo R wheels atm, i really like them..
I had 225 on my last set of 17x7's. They fit, but if you can run a thinner tyre you should.
so 215/45/17??? is that the best size to run with 17x7?
also does anyone know how they will sit with stock susspension?
when i had my Civic i went from a 175/60/14 to a 195/55/15 and the car sat closer to the road and looked really good. Also will the fit flush without rolling guards?
thanks for the help guys,
All depends on the offset the wheels are. If its anything from +40 to about +60 in a 17x7, you won't have to do anything, and they'll fit fine.
If you get anthing below +40 to about + 30 you'll have to run camber on the back, but won't need to roll the guards. Anything below +30 you'll need to roll the guards and add camber.
Just a note, the car is going to look really high if you put 17's on it with stock suspension, and because its a base (I'm guessing) it'll sit even higher then a Type R would sit... and that was high.
If your after some lowered springs, I have a set of lowered springs and shocks for sale.
+40 is the offset.
so 215/45/17 17x7+40.
Yeah it's the base modle DC5.. What springs and shocks you selling? and why? i was going to save up and buy Tein street coilovers.. cos it does sit bloody high. i just wanted to get wheels and rubber first cos i need new tyres.
Let me know 45SET...
what are the Tein coilovers like?
how much for the springs and struts?
pm me if you want.
ok another noob question..
whats better????
215/45/17 or 215/50/17?
thanks chargeR, i will let you guys know and post pics when i get em..
