Hey i have a 96 Accord & i really want to lower it but my budget is really tight so i cant afford coilovers by any chance :(

Whats my best option you guys think for tight budget ? As most of you guys have been through this ect.

dude you get what you pay for , these are junk , dont go there !!! they have poorly made aluminum sleeves (not steel) springs are no brand no specs no trust , i had a mate that got a set for his integra thinking he was smart , but well lets just say he ended up with putting in lowered springs and he was very happy , if you are on a budget , then look into getting a good set of springs (the best you can afford)then later you can get some shocks to go with .when you can afford them:p
Ahhh okay, but i need to get my back springs lower than my front cause im getting a front lip & dont wanna pass the legal limit, would i have to compress my springs ?
mate i made the mistake of buying these, wast of money, if you live near newy you can use mine to see if they fit, if they do, yours for jack all ahah.
i ended up buying some lowered springs, although havent got around to putting them in yet.
has anyone compressed there springs or cut ? would anyone recommend them or are they as bad as people say they are
^ Avoid at all cost. If you wanna lower it do it the proper way or don't bother to lower at all.
Does anyone know how Skunk2 shocks perform on CD5?

Kmac do a custom spring to whatever height you want. Ans they are reasonably priced. Dont ever cut springs I did this on my first car and destroyed the suspension. Learnt the hard way. Not to mention way way illegal.
Since your wallet is jewish, just buy sum King Spring Lows, comes down not all the way where the guards are right over the top of the tyre but good enough, gives you room to do things such as buy bigger profile tyres with/out rims. Only cost me $300 at tyrepower fitted and allignment free! And the ride is smoother than I expected before I got the cd5 lowered. This is my weekday drive so I wanted to do something to make the cd5 look bit better with the balance of a good ride.

$300 fitted? thats cheap! Did you buy the springs yourself or the 300 include the springs as well? Which Tyrepower did you go to? Yeah throw up some pics for us.

king lows are 1.5inch drop (dont quote me)
so if ur going to get kmacs, dont get anythign more than 2inch drop unless your accounting for changing ur shocks sooner rather than later...which will break your piggy bank.

here are the pics as requested! it doesnt look all that dumped but as FAT VTI said, they only come down 1.5inch. Still looks better than standard height in my opinion and good price fitted! The photos dont do it justice i reckon. In real life you can probably fit just under 2 fingers at the front and 1 & half at the rears.

nice vti cd5 there xcwizit... i love it man except the gold-ish rear plate trim and the accord/vti emblems. my suggestion is to get some clear side fender markers. =)

they are on stockies too, so if u got 17s or 18s remember it will prob (dont quote me) be higher due to the increase rolling diameter.
thanks mate, yeah when I bought the CD5 apparently the gold trims meant it was a 20th anniversary edition. Was an extra bonus for me because I was just after any CD5 Vti at the time I was looking for one since I got my wrx as my weekend car I really wanted this particular model accord as my everyday car. I picked it up for $6k in december full service history and more! I love these models and the 94-95 models also!Quote:

oh thanks element ! lol i went 2 autobarn/super cheap to ask for set of king springs they said 400 for set. & they dont do fitting
for $400 i think its lil expensive tho... you can get a set of quality springs for a lil more, but the downside would be the shipping cost... no offence to kings tho... just a matter of preference i guess.

I got a second hand set of kyb's and kings lows (they don't make super lows for the CD5) for $150 bucks back in the day.
They did the job well

All depends on how low you want it, how uncomfortable you can put up with , if you want your shocks to wear prematurely....if so by how much (depends on state of shocks and how low u intend to drop it).
It all depends on chance really, there have been people with 3inch drops who havent had a problem with their shocks for 3 yrs....then theres people with the same drop who's stock suspensions has fkd up in 3 days....
