just got a jdm itr shift linkage and dont know if i should go with energy or oem bushings? any difference?
Difference, not that i can notice but i think it is more durable for the long run.
The OEM bushings is quite soft rubber material while the energy are stiff polyurethane, which is better overall rubber compound
When i my replaced the OEM bushings they were still in good condition so its really up to you.
so just a matter of how long they last.
and how they perform.
energy would perform better?
hey bro... im in d same boat as u.. after few research.. it depends on what you are after? performance or the long lasting?
The oem will last longer than energy bushing...
but in terms of stiffness.. most people mentioned that its a better shifting..(firmer) i guess, but overall quite similar..
o yeach make sure u got the rite part number..
Well i decided to go for energy bushing..simply i want something firmer coz atm mine is kinda wobbly, i dont like it. will let u know when i get it and installed.
cheers.. hope that helps
cheers bro. yeah my ek4 linkage is wobbly too. thats why i just recently bought a jdm itr shift linkage. im waiting for jdmyard to get some more energy bushings in. so i can install the linkage.
I got an energy shifter bushing in. makes more difference than I expected. makes shifting feel a lot more sloid and precise  A lot better than OEM.
+1 vote for ENERGY bushings for shift linkages (balancer shaft end and gearbox end)
Firmed up feel a touch.
awesome i need to get a set of these. anyone tried other brands such as hard race or PSJDM. im assuming all would do the same and just grab the cheapest. some are poly some are hard rubber.
yeh! plus even if it doesnt last long which is what? 50 000 KMs (random no.)? just change it.. 30-40 bucks lol
sweet, looks like energy bushing it is? cant wait to chuck in the itr shift linkage.
i changed mine and didnt notice sh*t lol. did the guys who notice a difference get the red or black 1? btw id go energy coz i imagine they are cheaper than oem, and id say it would last longer going by all the hype about their rubber on their website
yeh I don;t know if it was from bushing because I changed to an ITR shift linkage + shifter at the same time with my energy suspension. Was an impact overall.. but dunno which it came from.
It was the linkage, the bushings didnt make a difference to me, felt the same.
I was hoping it would reduce the shaking/vibrations on the gear stick too but it was about the same.
I got the black one btw.
damn i wonna install the new linkage but waiting on the bushings==
Certain materials have better shock/energy absorption even if they are stiff. (eg. Polyurethane is used on running shoes to absorb shock.)
I assumed it was called 'energy' bushings for a reason. I was wrong haha
just put some energy bushings in my ek.... very firm.. ask benjammin
lol i need some energy bushings!
eBay US has it for $23US delivered, which should work out around $30AU. You just have to wait 1 week till they arrive.

You might wanna check underneath your car first if the exhaust is blocking the linkages because its a pain in the ass. Took me about 2-3 hours to install my short shift stick and bushings.
need to change to itr shifter too
to get best results imo
yeah bro i have an jdm itr shift linkage ready to be put it.
ive got itr shift linkage, and energy bushing kit from ebay, feels fantastic, better then the old ones,
all i need now is syncros or a recon box =(
but yea energy suspension bushing kit is a cheap and good upgrade for better shifting feel
onlt cost me 28bux from ebay
OHH OHH forgot to say i got the red ones, not black =)
yeh the itr shifter sits awesome in an EK, oh btw you can't fit your itr shift linkages if it didn't come with a shifter because your EK ones dont fit.
yeah i got the whole set. just installed it today with the energy bushings. big difference!
there is also hardrace shifter bush kits you can buy from buyhardrace.com
