the only question that i have in mind is whether i should persist in looking for a si or vti. this is for a daily run around and i was wondering would a GL do my just fine? or GLI be the lowest i should go?

if its for a daily, id recommend getting a gli or anything above, simply for the power options
between all of them though, the difference in the engines arnt much, and as u said, for a daily, no biggie right.
yes
all more or less teh same,
treat it as if you'd look for any other eg, vunerable areas, spots for rust, etc etc.
as you said buddy, daily driver, i doubt your going to be doing it up or racing etc, so imo engine makes no difference.
i had the GL..best daily ever...it had power options....500kms from a full tank...never broke down on me once...and all i had to do was service it...ultra realiable i guess if its for a daily..anything apart from the breeze would do you fine...if your looking to mod and convert engines...go for gli or up..in saying that if the prices of these eg's your looking at are fairly similar..id go for the vti first if not then next would be the si..but if your looking for something cheap and realiable any eg is good...just make sure its been well looked after and you looking after it yourself
If it is for a daily then a GL or GLi would be fine.
I have a GL 1.5l Twin carbie and it does me jsut fine :) cute little car and never given me much drama other then a problem that the previous owner caused by not looking after it... >.<
Other then that its a perfect little car for what I need at the moment.
thanks for the input. ive found this white eg gl for sale for roughly 2k and hoping to get my hands on it. if i find anything similar near its price range i will consider it.
yeah gl for daily is just fine, twin carbs got a lot of balls for what they are..and cheap to run..just make sure its been serviced and taken care of,alot of em have blown headgasket, rings etc
ideally looking for a twin carby thats done less than 200xxx. HOPEFULLY there are a few old folks looking to sell. =P
i had a fkn GL, peice of ****n shit. get a GLi
hmmmmm
i am looking to do the same thing. But everyone seems to want more than $4K
this is hard man. helpus out:(
seroiusly
if its a daily run arond and ur not plannign to mod it
i'd just get anything cheap.
well i've recently heard, GL models dont come with air conditioning. is this true and would i be able to put A/C in afterwards?
Missing link.
If its a Daily a GL or GLI will be plenty.
Hell, go buy a bomb ED untill you're ready to mod whatever project you have in mind.
^If you got the necessary stuff, yes, A/C in a non A/C standard car is easy as pie (providing you have proper equipment/tools for installation, if not its a easy install for whoever has the know how)
lol they come with A/C.
yeah it was auto
but that wasn't the problem, shit house carby
cheers for the replies boys. we will see how we go.
Carby for the lose !!!!
