I was recently defected aswell.....and lost my license in one hit.
The defects I knew were coming which didn't bother me, it was just and overdue (lol, car was going to the crusher at the end of the year anyway)
What was BS was the Cop, his attitude, the fact it was a "Random Breath Test" the fact he dicked me for not having a rear p-plate on which I explained and showed the receipt for magnetic p-plates (I put a magnetic one on 20 minutes before the dicking) and I had 2 regulars in the front.
To top that off moment after pulling me over and giving me some love without lube he pulled over another member of the 86 clan, a 86 Celica, it was red with a bit of primer here and there (mate of mine, just had a fuckload of rust cut-out), cop pulled him over and yellow stickered him :thumbdwn:

Cops can defect you even if you driving a purely stock car straight out of the showroom floor. The guidlines they go by are all up to interpretation so best way is to just suck up to them from the word go.

My old man works for bmw melbourne, they had just fitted a schnitzer kit to a new bmw for a client. So it's all factory stock, the client picked up the car and drove no less than 100m down city road before being picked up and defected for car too low.

I know it is taking to the extremes, but I'm sure you could get the suspension too stiff thing dropped through court, like they would have to have some sort of set level of measuring how stiff is 'too stiff' eg. a stonge copper could push down and feel enough movement, whereas a weedy weakass cop could push down and feel no movement, therefor regarding it as too hard... the rules are so up in the air its ridiculous... but I guess it's something we have to deal with everyday dmriving our cars...

Another fine example of cops being 'hoons' on the road - just take a daily drive and sit out side of the tullamarine cop, dog squad and driver training venue (mickleham rd) - numerous times there have been 3-4 cops in a car (some i believe could be trainees) weaving in and out of traffic at speeds between 100-120km/h on public roads, to what looks like they may be on their way to other venues (always seem to go past mickleham don't know whats there), but the things is, yes they may not need sirens and bla bla on all the time, but i believe they are manditory when other cars are in close proximity on the road for call outs.
Seeing all this this has left a very very sour taste in my mouth, but then again i would be making all this up as i wouldn't be a credible source and be regarded as a whistle blower.
These days I don't bother with the news and media or even government any more, just keep to myself, pick out bits that i want and think is true, do my own little analysis and move on with life, the more attention they all get, the worse it will get for all of us, there are already too many people with rocks in their heads tagging along with the bandwagons, thus it wouldn't matter what government leaders get elected any more - they are all the same, just like management at a job - if they don't preform and make money, they are next out, just like the gov, don't preform and make money, they don't get elected and the 'leader' don't get a bigger pay packet.
