Anyone know if Australia will be getting 17's as standard or option for 2005? and if so how much they will cost?
NZ get them as an option.

Hey baboo
do you know if the off-set etc are correct for the type-s rims? i saw them on the integra at the motor show and thought they looked quite nice.....
might have to suss out prices, unless someone out there already knows what they are worth
last i remember the offset on the TypeS is +40 or +45.
just right for Euros.
They sound like a good choice, but they might cost a bit.
YEah i am 100% positive the revised euro model will be coming with 17s, not sure bout clear lights. would be a nice touch possibly, but maybe to much mazda 6 look.
I have also heard rumours of 17" rims for 2005 and no space saver tyre (ie a full sized rim!)
For those seeking performance this is a step backwards as the OEM 17" is probably heavier. An extra 10kg in the boot doesn't help performance either.
So it looks like the 03/04 model will outrun the new model!
Also, if the 2005 Euro plans to follow the rolling diameter of the TSX (Which has 17" rims and 215/45 tyres), then there is less acceleration than the 2003/04 model.
the Euro is not a true performance car anyway so the extra weight and slower acceleration is fine if the trade off is for extra saftey in the form of a full size spare. Its the donut spare that lost the Euro the Wheels car of the year award last year.Quote:

I've just ordered an '05 Euro and have been told it will come with 17" wheels. The dealer doesn't know any other info. I didn't know about the clear tail lights till I stumbled across this thread. Hope they don't look gay.
If they are exchangeable, that's the first thing I'll do to the 05 euro if it came with clear lights.
Congratulations on your car Lowenhart i hope they dont have clear tail lights there really gay
I don't think there will be clear tail lights cos both the JDM Accord and Acura TSX don't have it, and the Accord Euro is pretty much a rebadged JDM Accord. Also, Honda Japan always have new stuff coming to them first, and from the website, there's no change to the Accord whatsoever.
how did you order the 05? Did you have to specifically ask for it or is there pretty much no more 04 stock left?Quote:

Spoke to a honda dealer on the weekend and he confirmed that the only difference between 04 and 05 is the 17inch wheels on the luxury model.
Honda Aust are holding all 05 until all 04 stock has been sold first, but that reallyl shouldnt take to long.
Ah damn it, all 03' 04'luxury model owner should entitle to a free 17'' wheel upgrade...
Or realistically, a discount......
Hell yeah!. Discount or upgrade. That sucks nutz. Gotta love it when a car company shafts you like this, "let's see how much bitching and moaning there is from our guinea pig customers about small wheels, when we offer 17"s as an option everywhere else in the world". When confronted by this at a recent Honda evening their head technical guru said "Oh no, can't go bigger than 16's, the suspension bushings and geometry is all wrong" Then asked "well what have they changed to now provide the ability to offer 17"s on the '05 model" and "from an engineering and economic standpoint please explain to me how they justify such a unique difference for a small market such as Australia" he shut up. Bombarded the guy with a shedload of ?'s and he wasn't able to answer one of them honestly without resorting to the company line. Doesn't bother me anyway now with 18"s all lined up :D
Well anytime a car company updates / upgrades a car, owners of previous models are going to get upset, not much you can do about it.
just thank your lucky stars you dont own a toyota, they seem to update there cars with alarming frequency / and "limited edition models".
If anyone gets any pics of the new rims, post em' would be very interested to see what they look like (might be the same as TSX's or jap spec Accord) and what they cost.
