Michael Schumacher to come out of retirement for Mercedes ?

The sport needs Schumi more than ever, with teams reducing budgets or pulling out all together they need his appeal to get people interested in F1 again.
He is a legend, and will probably do well again.
it seems lik every new season theres something to look fwd to...
cant wait to see how button goes vs ham.. how alonso fares in a Ferrari... n the return of schumi (lets hope)...
lookin fwd to it indeed...
Only 84 more sleeps till P1 in bahrain, cant wait.
Going to the Melb GP..
everything is already booked!!
Go Schumacher!
Schumacher has signed with Mercedes for 1 year deal
7mil Euro (11.34mil)
what a way to get the hype going for a new season!!!
I reckon hamilton will smash button...
Alonso to also smash massa...
Let's hope schumi does well...he doesn't deserve to come back just to make up the numbers.
got my tickets on my desk!
hope i see some mad action where i am =D
man this season has epic changes! lol I guess we'll see who's competitive at first race as I have no idea!
Ferrari comeback?
Merc?
RBR?
Macca?
Renault?
Anyones game atm... but a lot of good drivers vs good teams!
what technical changes have been done to the cars ?
apparently ferrari have been really owning at valencia during practise, alonso with fastest time and most laps.
Here are some comparisons:

looks like front wheels are smaller, longer wheelbase, heavier
with the new changes and new teams it looks like its going to be a exciting year and anyones game
If anyone wants some, I'm gonna be selling off large chunks of my private F1 collection guys, I have every race from 1978 orso and most qualifying sessions from the early 90's.
got a letter from gp advantage today saying that on wednesday there is a behind the scenes tour for the Aust GP from 3.30 - 7.00pm
only arrive into melb at 6pm..
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
I did that last year, your not missing out on much, the line up is huge and the gp advantage isnt really an advantage if everybody has the advantage. All the garages were closed when i walked past, however the C63 safety did a mad take off from the start line.
Bit hot in Melbourne, best to buy a wandering ticket as the stands are quite far from the track. Who else is going to Melbourne this year? and anyone planning to go to the Singapore race? Might see ya there.
lol hahah - damn misleading gp advantage..
im guessing all those who bought grandstand tickets have 'gp advantage' although i could be wrong..
i ended up with a 4 corners ticket and im on the main straight on sunday..
it is hot i remember going back in 2007 - i walked the track after the sunday race and i got toasted.. had the outline of sunnies on my face for a couple months lol
i wish i could go singapore again this year.. if i could do it again id go to the singapore flyer and get the package instead of in the grandstands..
Vettel for pole and Massa, Alonso and Hamilton to follow respectively. Shumi done pretty well for his first qualy.
Should be a good race
Rosberg has outpaced Schumi consistently though so not expecting much from Schumi.
Webber did a bad qualy, will be hard for him to reach the podium
Will be interesting to see how the traffic is like, the new teams are as much as 11 seconds off the pace per lap
Force India is surprisingly doing quite well
Button most likely wont be defending his world champion title
Disappointed in kobayashi's performance, but could be the car
Ferrari look very strong this year
hoping for a good race
least the front runners are back at the front again
bring on the season
anyone else found the race boring?
tbh i fell asleep after the first round of pit stops..
mostly because i was tired but as aaron said above, less overtaking / position changes.
Alot of that did happen in the pitt stops & alot of strategy was involved with fuel levels during quali & re-fueling during races etc..
I understand the removing all that puts more emphasis on the drivers skill and the ability of the mechanics & pitt crew to preform better under pressure and passing on the track as opposed to the overtaking being done in the pitt..
Cant say im totally convinced with all the new rules yet.. but i feel they have shot themselves in the foot
yeah too many blue collars in my opinion
The last few seasons have had far too many rule changes and its killing the sport. Why can't they just leave it as is? The whole not being able to change tyres on race day was pathetic.
I think the lack of fuel stops and whole conservation of tyres makes the race a little boring at the start and by the time the fuel becomes a real issue, the gaps are too big to do anything about it!
I agree it was boring once the race settled.
there was more interest watching the back runners as they were going at it.... othere than those guys the rest of the race was very boring..
why they took the fuel stops out for safety reasons i really dont know... the speeds they get upto is dangerous..
all they had to do was enable the car to stay raised till the fuel pourer was removed then drop the car and release it..
maybe even reduce the size of the tank to have more stops too.. the V8s were good to watch..
once the othre teams get upto speed then i recon it will become a good race..
cant wait to watch a wet race then all the cars are equal.. it then becomes the driver..
Too many fueling mistakes where the pump failed or the guy who was putting the fuel in did not remove the hose on time. You can't totally remove human error without removing the process itself. So they removed fueling.
Also remember that fueling was introduced in the 90's to encourage overtaking. Before that, there was no refueling.
true true.. i guess the first race was s big shake down for most of the teams.. hopefully things will pick up..
Hate all these new rules.
Very much agreed with others in the fact that F1 has got very boring.
I'll still watch it as i do enjoy it but dislike the new rules.
No fuel stops is ****ing ridiculous IMO.
Overtaking due to drivers error and pressure very rarely happens, drivers are training to deal with the pressure of an opponent behind them.
If they standardize engines for everyone, ill never watch F1 again.
On a good note, this years F1 seems to have alot more people buying tickets so hopefully it'll be up on last years sales :)
lewis hamilton got done tonight for fishtailing out of albert park in his c63 lol.
got his car impounded
lulz
Quote:
FORMER Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton was caught hoon driving and had his car impounded tonight.
The English McLaren driver did a burnout and a fishtail along Lakeside Drive in front of a Victoria Police divisional van that pulled him over.
Hamilton, who was visibly upset, had his car towed away and impounded and will also receive a fine.
It is understood he told policemen at the scene that he was worried this would dent his reputation.
The Herald Sun understands that he was not taken back the police station for questioning.
The incident happened between 9.30 pm and 10 pm tonight.
In 2007, Hamilton was banned from driving in France after being clocked driving at 123mp/h (around 200km/h).
He was given an on-the-fine and his sports car was impounded by French police.
lol watta ****ing dickhead.. Saw that on the heraldsun website...
Everyone writing comments have mixed reactions
"He knows what he was doing, he has full control of the car"
"Ban him from the race"
LOL... Idiots...
He shouldn't have done it. Not on public roads.
man, he is a professional... that is not professional!
although that is funny as! 'captain faggot' get's done by VIC hoon laws... lol btw, where is GreekWarrior these days??
ahaha that's funny, almost made me like him again.. but NO!
Red Bull front row..
Hope Mark gets one up on Seb..
I got a feeling Alonso will jump one or both of the RBR boys though
We will see .. vettels pace will always be faster than webbers .. just a matter of if he makes a mistake.
If it rains the race could get interesting .. so I say .. bring on the rain!
GO WEBBER!. If he doesnt do it this year then he will never do it. He needs to continue to his momemtum from last season. He starts from 2nd but this is the only track where 2nd position enters turn 1 on the inside. So lets hope they all get a clean start leading into turn one. GL Mark
I think hes really fired up for this race, the look on Marks face when he went to congratulate Vettel on qualifying was priceless. Just hope he doesn't get to eager on the first turn. I agree with you this year will be the only year for him, Red Bull have made a fantastic car he just needs to deliver.
think webber ****ed up pretty bad... but still early..
its over for webber now... f*cking hamilton that f*cking dickhead.
Vettel fcked up!!!!!! No 1st place!
Quite a good amount of overtaking though. Good race. Hope it stays in Melb.
Awesome race. Webber didn't **** up it's just they had to change vettel Tyree before him keeping webber out for another lap whilst everyone else is lapping 2 secs quicker then he is causing him to drop back in the pack after his tyre change. I say hats off to him for gaining back some positions.
The end will be interesting.
1) Will Button's tires last until the end?
2) Will Alonso take out Massa?
3) Will Kubica take out Massa?
4) Will Webber overtake Hamilton?
5) Will Hamilton do a burnout in parc fermé and get his F1 car impounded?
HAHAHAHAHA Webber fcked up BIG TIME!!!!!!
Hamilton will be so pissed off at Webber.
lol @ option 5
Webber has this uncanny knack of steadily going backwards after qualifying well. He should start from pitlane next week.
Melbourne was totally opposite Bahrain .. so many position changes, imagine how much better it would have been with re-fuelling, another variable to play with! Congrats to Button though gambling with the supersofts, ended up paying off, badluck to Vettel and Webber having the fastest pace out there but reliability and consistency failing them.
Loved the race..
Alot of action and overtaking..
Kobayashi's crash was damn crazy..
I really hope Sydney doesnt win the bid for the F1.. it would be so sh*t lol
Webber made a few mistakes - its a shame he couldnt come out on top..
Heres to hoping in Mark still has a good year
Was Kobayashis crash his own mistake or did the front wing fall off again?
Webber will have a decent year, but wont win the world championship I feel.
I still think Vettel is up there to win this year, if redbull sort out his car
Ferrari is up on the points right now but they aren't the fastest out there.
really good race... but...
Mark Webber....
I AM DISAPPOINT!
was interesting to see the strategy that goes hand in hand with the new rules now... Button drove a good race following him being the first into the pits to get the slicks on... i was expecting a pit in at about 10 laps to go...alas it wasnt to happen...
good race
+1 for Mark Webers post race interview
Melbourne was the most exciting F1 race I’ve seen in ages.
I was sitting on the Brabham stand which is the inside of first corner.
Was on the edge of my seat for the best part of the race.
Still spewing that Button took out Schuey right in front of me :(
He was on the leader’s pace throughout the whole race.
Would have been amongst the 2nd-7th battle for sure.
Malaysian GP today at 5pm
Webber on pole for the race - he & rosberg gambled on inters for Q3 while everyone was on full wets...
Such a weird session with Ferrari and McLaren caught out by the weather change
Hope this year it doesnt get washed out lol

the s**t teams are causing traffic...
IMHO they need to bring in the 107% rule again...
watched a replay of the race this morning..
Mark Webber must have been spewing!!
Letting Sebastian in so easily..
Red Bull 1-2 finish.. Vettell deserved it though.. he should be 3 of 3 lol
Rosberg got 3rd place.. I swear hes gay or something hahah
Hamilton did a killer drive.. made up 10 places in 2 laps lol.. but Sutil kept him at bay for the later half of the race
Torro Rosso was driving well also - pulling some mad overtaking moves
Schumi had a failure and so did Alonso (there was quite a few retirements this race actually)
I was hoping for rain! that would have added some excitement.. but alas it was a dry race..
I have to admit i did fast forward the back half of the race cos it got abit boring ..
Good race. Vettel will be the next world champion. Someone quote me on this one. lol Providing his car is reliable no doubt he will be the next champ. He will be the Youngest F1 World Champion.
It's happining this year, unless another manufacturer makes a huge advance in development. Vettel can possibly win 80% of the races this year based on current form.
Bloody Mark Webber, always finds a way to lose! I gave up on him at some point last year. Before that I always thought in the right car he could threaten. Was I wrong. I reckon he'll be sacked at eoy unless he takes a massive pay cut. Shame.
Yeah Vettell for next world champ .. If RBR give him a reliable car for the rest of the year he would come out on top..
lol @ Webber always finding a way to lose.. hahaha
He has proven he is a good driver though.. cant take away the fact he won a couple of races last year..
He is a threat but being placed next to one of the best drives in F1 atm (with a longgg career ahead of him) Webber is constantly being out done by hes team mate..
dont RBR still have Webber caused he still on contract for 1 more year? i think they just wait for the contract to finish next year then bye bye Webber.
hopefully not, hopefully he can find his groove... he does have the talent and ability, his issue is consistancy... i watchin him sometimes and i think he becomes too overzealous at times and loses the plot... just needs to find some consistance in his pace...
Vettel is very talented
love the front wing of the red bull.
Andrew is on the money, Vettel is the next Schumacher. Even though I never rated Schumacher, don't start.. it's all politics but I mean record wise.
Webber is gone, his on his last legs, if he doesn't do anything this year, he will never do it. I say this year or next year he will retire on a good note.
Just like Barrichello, he should of given the sport up last year when he did well with Brawn, now he looks like a dick mid-pace in an average Williams.
Regarding front wings, I found this to be an interesting article http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2010/0...hnical-update/
apparentlly there are rumors going around that kimmi raikonnen may take marks position next ear at red bull, i think all these speculations arose when kimmi started rallying for red bull racing??
yeah the year off was for webbers contract to be over.
But then again, there were strong rumours of him going to Mclaren.
Ferrari should've got rid of Massa instaed of Kimi. Then you'll have 2 teams with world champions as its drivers.
haha michael shcumacher lol, as if he'd come back. still cant get over it.
i reakon alonso ftw this year!
McLaren was going to sign Kimi before they had signed Button, but i think the problem was Kimi wanted his $20mil+ whereas button was $11mil. I think that's where it fell apart. So this year Kimi gets to go have some fun while still been paid out by Ferrari.
Umm....Schumi is back
kimi must be loving life at the moment

LOLOLOLOLOLOOOLOLOL!!! how the f**k!
Dam ,thats some scary shit
wooo go vettel. was rooting for the dude before the start of last season.
love the aerodynamics of the red bull.truly a work of art.
