jdm k20
is tehre any reason why MNC... i really find posts like yours are pointless!
THe OP has received any answer from another member, yet they havn't given any justification to that answer.
K24 = More Torque / Less Revs.
K20 = More Revs / Less Torque.
K20 = More expensive.
K24 = Less expensive.
Up to you, torque or revs.
Huge price difference though. (if JDM K20A)
k24 and then add some cams, retainers and valve springs with the money u save from k20 and u have the same power same rev's but a shit loads more torque...
hey yeh i was thinking k24 cause u get alot more tourqe and a few mods here and there you got the same power thnks alot for the responses guys
K24/20 farker!!!
I havent driven a manual K24. But a K20 will be sufficent enough for daily use and occasional track days.
k24 baby!!!!!!!!
Thats Right! Most K20 owners i know usually end up getting a K24. Go figure. K24's are cheap. Add the right retainers,valves spring,some mild cams and you will shit all over a K20. Yes K20's will always rev harder, around the track the k20 is harder to drive than a k24. Here's an example. Last turn at Wakefield Pk a k20 has to shift back to second and a k24 can stay in 3rd. There is no replacement for displacement. Dont get me wrong a JDM K20 is quality but expensive. :thumbsup:
how much more lbs of tq does a k24 have to the k20 anyone?
also
Tom, you said a k24 would have same revs with those few upgrades - can you please explain how? im noob...
Ohh i understand now...
cheers for the explanation.
what's the price difference between the two??
DRHnda for all your k needs
K24 FTW! specially in DC2 chasis.
+1 DRHONDA for K series engine rebuild
hey my dc2/k20 aint too shabby lol
Of course not. Jdmk20's are awesome. I've driven one and I love em. But nothing feels better, more aggressive and response than a k24 hands down. I've driven 10 secs skylines and I'll be honest and say that the raw power and sound of a built k24 is exhilarating. Your dc2 is one of the best alongside nelson's k20 dc2 are fine examples of jdmk20's here in australia.
Yours is fast boss hehehe
im curious why the Euro R was given a k20a if k24's are so much 'better', sure both have their pros and cons, end of the day every 1 is gonna be biast to what they like, sure there is no replacment for displacement
then again im no expert and will never claim to be, but k20 can be as cheap if u know where to look
Because from factory the k20a is a performance whereas the k24 isn't. That doesn't mean you can't modify the internals of k24. And when you do the k24 becomes something k20a cannot match. It has been proven worldwide that the k24 is the engine of choice for most genres of Motorsport, drag racing or circuit.
like i was implying k20 is the better stock motor, but like anything bigger disp and money is a formula to sucess, and i feel that the manority will be that serious that they will be building fully built drag/ track motors
so i guess it really comes down to what u wanna achieve
not at all, if ur aims were super lap and getting best track times its clear what u would choose, just every 1 making the k20 sound like its not even worth looking at
another dreamers question imo on ozhonda
just to also add a stock motor is sometimes better than a built motor
unless the engine builder knows what he is doing
yeah, some ppl want less risk in their motor.
btw yonas, your bc3 cams in the k24, youre using toda tensioner eh?
im worried with cammed motor in k24, read alot abt tensioner failure.
thanks for the info.
wow skunk2 tensioner haha.
i gotta check it out, didnt know abt that. i wonder how it compares to hybrid racing tensioner.
thanks for the info andrew.
