Hi all My vtec has been coming on and off lately like itll kick in at 6k rpm then die at 6.5 and come back at 7.5 and random shit like that. Anyone have any suggestions? Ive already checked oil and pressure.

get a vtec light wired up and check if the signal itself is turning off or not . this should give you a good basis to begin with.
what mods and what ecu are you running. and last mods done to your car would help

Car is quite stock but i just upgraded the exhaust and high flow cat, that cant have anything to do with it
check oil, check speedo sensor, check vtec wire...if still same after those check have been cleared, then run a diagnostics...
sounds like oil pressure?
Change oil aswell

coz i might have a lil ding in mine
ditry vtec solenoid & check 100A fuse in fusebox (under bonnet next to battery).
could be the vehicle speed sensor!!! check the plug to see if the pins are farkd. exact same thing happened to me.. then vtec fell off. Changed the connector for it and then I could start scaring kids at bus stops again.
hey guys thanks for all the help i forgot to report back, after trying 2 different speed sensors and the problem wasn't fixed I found out that the actual plug that sits on the gearbox was farked as Nickk mentioned.
So if anyone has this problem make sure u check both the sensor and the plug!
