Dremal I line in it and use a flat head works for me most times.....
how can you round the thread? you rounded the screw or thread?
The thread/screw/grip tthing.. Not the thread thread.. Lol
u mean the screw head lol
man this guy is confusing. use chisel and hammer it if you dont have dremel, make a + or - with the chisel on the head.
Lol yes the head.. Lol sorry I'm kinda panicking loool.
Its a small screw though.. And tight ass... Will the chisel trick work?
which screw head did you round frans??
like they said make a mark heat it up and she'll be right!
Hey frans, if worse comes to worst then you can always go buy an easy out drill bit from bunnings, just ask them they'll know what you mean. Its a reverse drill bit that you can use to drill in the direction that is used to screw the screw out. And dw they're easy to use :)
instead of using flat head screwdrivers get a nipper wire cutter under the head
get some small old metal/screwdriver and weld it to the screw then twist lol
Read the posts bro lol be rounded the head of the screw with a drill
hey man, haha thanks for the tip.. do i just drill it to the top of the screw?
coz i still wanna take the damaged screw out :o
lol funny kunt full edited ur post ahhahahaha
whats a nipper wire cutter? i dont wanna cut the screw.. i wanna take it off.
just get a TINY TINY drill tip . drill in.. then start using that turn it dead slow ;)

thats what i ment by wire cutter, use same technique as two flat head screws, just shove the head inbewtween the two meat cleavers on the end and squeeze just enough to hold it not cut it ;P funny that your taking a day to take a screw out xD
Just drill a hole where the screw is. and BAM! the screw is gone.
FRANS!
Cut a line into it, then use a flathead screwdriver to take it out man lol......
Hacksaw a slit and use a flat head screwdriver, that's why i used on rivets. Same should apply to your situation.
As what majority has said, hacksaw a line on top of the screw and use a flathead to get it out
where abouts is the screw placed?
is the screw countersunk?
Well if u look at tiksie's diy carby mod thread, its the cap which sits on top of this spring near the throttle.. I managed to get one cap off with out any trouble, but just this one. I can't hack saw it since there are no space at all -_-
If I drill the screw in the middle, what wil happen to the screw? I don't wanna make the situation worse
Take some pics tonight frans so they know exactly what's up
I have this plier
fujiya sp26-175 screw plier
very good tool.
You mean one of the Keihin lids ? lol, those screw are so soft!
There is enough clearance for a hacksaw man
if the screw is soft just force it out and put a new one in the soft ones break easily. dont know why you using a drill on those plastic screws lol
they're not plastic screws lol -.-"
heres a pic :
just imagine that the screw is rounded as a fuker's shaved balls lol
the one with red circles, ignore the arrows lol - pic taken off tiksie's thread

Still going on this..! :)
If U can't get it out U may have to drill it out and re tap the thread - how to do! Remove the part to make it easier.
Don't ya just love it when an easy job becomes a pain in the ass! hehehe
If U don't wanna do the above get the car or car part to someone who has experience, good mechanics always have tricks to sort these problems out quick smart.
Or drill it out and use a thread restorer like Aaron recommended in my DIY above, looks a bit easier!

Get in there and have a go ya self mate, can't keep relying on others.Doing the job ya self is so rewarding :)
I didn't think I could put my coilovers in a few days ago but I sussed it out and had a go and it was easy as! and it's feels great to know U done it.
He's trying to remove a philips head screw, not fix a messed up thread.
I reckon the wrong screw driver size was used, hence the head was messed up. Happens often with philips head screws. I'd use an easy-out and then replace with a proper hex-head bolt if it takes a standard metric thread.
the tool I recommended works a treat for your situation.
Do U mean the one I posted or bludger's haha :)
Ah right haha
I bought it from one of those bloke type shops u find in Industrial areas,do U know what I mean? :)
hahahahaa
Yeah,if U go to an industrial area hahahaha.. just go into a shop and ask
OR
Just go to repco and ask :)
Yeah true LOL
get my thing from jaycar, you won't regret it.
use the fujiya item for screws and use irwin bolt grips for hex bolts.
I had a rounded lug nut, put on the 17mm bolt grip and out it comes without a scratch on the bolt grip.
the more you turn, the more it grips.
not cheap though.
That looks like a friggen piranha!

That's hilarious! LOOOOOL!!!!!!
Jaycar, bunnings don't sell it
Fujiya - all made in Japan stuff.
you can try use a chisel and bash it loose by hitting it at an angle on the side.
took off the focking screw today..
Benjaminn told me to hammer a chunky phillips head screw driver, so i gave it a go today and it worked like a miracle!~
But.. second screw didnt work so well, until my brother's mate told me to hammer it and turn the screw driver to un screw it AT THE SAME TIME! +1 for a tip for u's
So hammer and screw it at the same time?
Well done benny!!
Beeza: yep yep! Do it at same time, coz according to my bro's mate, if u just keep on hammering it, u'll damage the head even more lol!
And yeah thanks ben! :)
Makes sense to me!
Get personnel with it lol
:)
