hi guys,
what's the stock wheel spec (including offset) for odyssey lux for both RB1 and RB3?
thanks in advance.
Phil,
on the RB1 Basic and Lux is the same
16x6.5/+55
but on the RB3 Basic still the same except the LUX
17x7/+55
you should buy my Toyota ALPHARD
http://i51.tinypic.com/hvapdz.jpg
Alphard is fxxking nice but way over budget.
Thx btw. Do u think 8.5 + 42 would sit flush?
what about the 2007 Elgrand Highway Star ? much more cheaper but more features with side camera and reverse camera too, interested ? hehehe . . .
its depends +42 Low Disk or High Disk . . .
mine 8.5 / +43 Low Disk still need to trim a lil bit of the bumper and the black plastic cover but no need to roll as long as you camber it a lil bit
bro this is me on 19x8.5 +45 (225/40) and -2degrees on the rear right is the most I can come out without it touching while car is idling. no guard work but i think will need some done as the wheel is rubbing not sure which part when car is loaded with >4 people and when it hits a bump. though the rubbing is not that severe.

I just remember I'm running 245/35/20 on the rear, thats why its rubbing a lil bit, I'm quite sure it wont be hit anything with 225/35/20
Safest spec 18x7.5 +42 using 225/45 rubber. Definitely will not rub at all and it is almost flush. My camber for front and back are I think are between 0 and -1. Great for preserving tires, been on my RE001's for about 45,000 km and no sign of camber wear.

laski, stop tempting me lol. the last gen elgand is probably too high and might not clear some car parks. also can't open windows at the side doors is slightly fail......
thanks guys for the information. much appreciated.
mobil1, do you have size on pic of your car? love to see how 19s look.
evo, it seems 18x7.5 is a safe side. i actually have a set of rays on that size so might be i'll keep them for the odc.
also guys, what are you lowered on? laski you baller, i know what you have already lol
thanks heaps.
put it this way, 18 x 7.5 +42mm all round is safe and within legal limit. I'm running the same on F/R as well, soon will try with +37mm on the rear and the front in the future if i can find a pair of tyres.
mine lowered on Ohlins without stiffness adjustment. Happy modding!!
thanks aus.
i wonder if there are more room on a RB3.......
i doubt it as RB1/RB3 are running the same chassis and RB3 is not wider than RB1 but 5mm lower. honestly -1 to -2 deg camber can accommodate heaps more.
get a face-lifted RB1 instead of RB3 mate, rear and interior on RB3 are just not my cup of tea.......
Ehhhh both are sexy ok
Bro Dan, when you say roll guard means fold the lip in abit correct or just do something about the rubber plastic cowl? Because I thought it's rubbing the arch lip but doesnt seem to have any rub marks on the tyre side wall.
Bro Phillip my rims are mattblack so its alittle hard to judge how it will look as they seem "bigger" when combined with tires. I'd go 20s though lol if it wasnt for the tyres I bought already. oh and its lowered on tein gt-wagon
Bro Damien as attached...
I decided to ditch the Enkeis because it doesnt go well with the mugen grill. and went for Monza Japan Euromesh "style"..haha GMAX copy.. it was impulse purchase
BTW just installed HKS409 today..SMFH....loud

OMG Roy, you set the RB1 modding standard to another level, full JDM Absolute body kit, 19" lowered with GT Wagon, Mugen grille...... looking like Victoria has the best black and white modded RB1 in Australia
Your car looks nice. My one at the moment is on stock rims & suspension after i got defected. Did you get it painted at DT? Your car is black so it's hard to see the marks on your tyres. Maybe try put some liquid washable paint on your guard and see where the marks are. Becareful with the EPA for your exhaust. I still got the notice from them even though they've tested my car and only 83db.
ok2x I'm shut up now :zip:
hey your RAYS SE37 its definitely fit perfectly for the Odys, you know that already, right ? so stick with that
unless if you are thinking of 19 or 20 thats another diference story
for me I wont buy any Taiwanese Coilover I rather just change the spring or get Japanese brand Sussy, anyway you know who can help you with the Japs product . . . . .
Frekila
^^ i see, where is he now? not on OH anymore?
Haha bro Andy thanks...
Bro Dan, you kena defect? You know I live right behind the police VicPolive HQ on flinders..everyday I come out I'm like fingers crossed please dont let it be today. Yeah I got it painted at DT. Bro wanna ask..say if i get defected for car too low, can I just raise it up and go inspect? or must take out everything?
He's in indo now, only comes here during holiday. I'll probably arrange for a photoshoot if he's in melbourne.
Yeah but not because i was stopped by police. They saw me driving at night and they sent me a letter they want to inspect my car. I still got defected even though i already removed my air sus but it's all cleared now. Your car is black & your rims is black also so your car won't attract police attention that much.
LOL serious bro? and here i am thinking this will catch the cops attention for that "racer" look wtf hahaha...
so if you get defected for one thing you still must remove everything? like if say i get defected for car too low. i cant just jack it u and go inspect (with the tein still in)? and also must remove air pod?
next i wanna go maybe ask the place you do your vinyl to black out the chrome strip on the side of the door.
haha i wish my car is black hehe i never have a problem with cops with my euro last time. Roy, you can just adjust the height and it's should be fine. Btw, it seems that you went to all the places that i recommended hehe
Yea bro..so far every single one i go i just follow your recommendation.
i think i still need to jack mine up alittle as the new exhaust (middle section) is brushing the ramps and bumps..lucky not hard knock, just slight brush...... for now..LOL
call suspension city about winding my back up alittle..$150 just to adjust?!? almost the same cost as installing all 4!! maybe go back to nelson or something.. but he's far and dont open on weekends
ou yeah also can all you Bro's out there pleaseeeee let me know if anyone would be interested in my Enkeis (brand new). I can't list on Marketplace in here yet..
Wow Roy, Ody looks good. Front grille looks like it's missing something, maybe get a DC5 lux front Honda badge?
Gmax rims aren't too bad, they are heavy, but are well made. Was thinking of getting the exact same rims as yours. Good taste :p
thanks bro...
the grill didnt come with the emblem (maybe stolen). I bought this from ebay but dont think wanna put it on http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=280549936034.
Wanna go for the more stealth "ghost" look...hahaha
i wanna black out my chromes like this guy..but use tint film instead of painting incase if need to sell the car next time.
http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/...6944/note.aspx
sorry Philip I shall stop hijacking your thread :)
No worries mate. The ODC owners have been quiet lately.
Love to have stirred some discussions up.
Roy, The chrome bits definitely can be blackened out using vinyl but i'm not sure about the word odyssey on the rear door. I think they can work it out. Just let me know if you're ready so i can let you know their details. It's a bit far though.
honestly, if you want comfort stick with 18 becoz you will be using 45 profile instead of 35, but do not ever try to use 30 profile you will be definitely regret that,
I tried my friend Tarago with 19 and 30 profile with TEIN Mono Flex that car is like HELL . . . . and now he got AME 22" and change the Coilover too with the Tanabe Coilover Air Sus . . . .
bump up an old thread.
so with 18s, best tyre size would be 225/45/18? i think KU36 has this size lol
so want to get 19x8.0 and roll 225 or 235/40/19 but i'm so broke. this will cost at least $4k with quality JDM wheels and cheap tyres.
haha baller on KU36, yeah 225/45/18 is the best bet on 18
talking abt 18, just got myself a used pair with offset +35mm. hopefully spoke design can accommodate the BBK without spacer
eBay has got cheap Conti SportContact 2 in that size. Tyres are discontinued series.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/4-X-225-45-18...#ht_3264wt_962
Just changed to them a few weeks ago. Bought from a different seller, but about the same price.
thanks evo. i had CSC2 on my Golf b4 and they were pretty good and the price here is quite good too.
I have a set of Fabulous Expand 19x8 if you're interested.
stop tempting me Dan lol
although i would love to get 19s, i guess i'd just stick to 18s as i would love to pass the odc to my wife. it will be painful if she curbs the beautiful 19s....
will just try my old 18s first. if the offset is really bad then i might dig a little deeper.......
what is the offset of yr 18"?
+42 & +48.
+42 front and +48 with 10mm bolt-on spacer rear... problem solved!! oh, stagger? no need spacer then hehe
not a fan of spacer tho. let see how it goes, not in a hurry to swap wheels. want to order some coilovers first.
Has any fitted FN2 wheels? Just wondering if 18x8 55 would have clearance issues on the inside?
I have seen picture with FD2R wheels but not sure if spacers are fitted..
What's the PCD on an RB3?
5x114.3
Thanks!
Have to get new tyres in 7500 ks they reckon so may get wheels at the same time - see what comes up here and/or on ebay.
Just in case you didn't already know, if you are thinking of getting second hand rims with tyres, most likely than not, the tires will not fit the Odyssey due to difference in overall rolling diameter. 18" tires from an CL9 or FD will be too small although the rims will most prob fit.
You might need to find rims and tires that come off a RX8 or 350z or another Odyssey.
Just after some input guys.
I've been eyeing up these wheels:
Attachment 20320
They're Speedy Revolvers.
They come in 18x8 with +45 offset and 114x5 bcd.
The factory wheels are 17x7 with +55 offset so the new ones at +45 should be almost flush yeah?
I'd like to fit some Kumho KU31 tires (had these on the Peugeot 306GTi sports hatch and they were really awesome!).
So I can meet factory load rating specs (94V), I need to get the 235x18x45 tires at 98W. Kumho state that these are recommended for rims between 7.5" and 9.0".
And the 235's are absolutely spot on for static radius (311mm) so my rolling diametre stays the same as factory - yay!
I was looking at the 225's because I didn't want to over tire the car and but they're only 89Y rated.
Will these be fine on the RB3 at factory height with no scraping?
I'm still wanting to lower the car about 30-40mm at some stage as well.
Would the new wheels still be ok after lowering as well?
Cheers everyone.
The specs of the rims is fine and is almost flush to the fender, not too sure about using 235 tires though. I would be more confident they would fit if it was 225 tires.
i have seen people fitting 245 on RB3 but not sure what offset they had.
18x8 +45 should be flush at the front but you will need something like +38 to be flush at the back.
i will be fitting 225 on 19x8 soon. will let you know how it goes.
I don't really want things totally flush because I wont be adding a camber kit right away and I don't want to roll the guards.
I just want it 'nearly' flush and sitting just inside the guards because the standard wheels look a little odd sitting so far inside the guards.
i'll guess your rim will "nearly" flush but not your tyre. 235mm / 25.4 = 9.25 inches so will be around 0.5 inch each side wider than your rim.
like i said only a guess based on mathematics as everything need to be fitted making sure. give it a try then let us know later as no one can give you definitely answer on this unless someone has exactly the same set.
as i said i'm going to fit mine (hopefully this weekend) then i can give you more detail.
at stock height, your spec will be fine. can't say for sure about your tyres when lowered (the front may scrap but the rear is fine). and you WILL need camber bar when lowered.
btw you sure you don't wanna go 19s? our cars are pretty big!!
my 225 fitted on 8" is a little stretched so i would think 235 is fine on 8"
but diff brands 235 might have a slightly different dimension....
Kumho recommend any wheel between 7.5" and 9" for the 235 tire.
An 8" wheel will be spot on.
I thought of 19's Philip, but the car is already sluggish enough without adding more inertial mass further out from the hubs (unless you disengage the traction control but then the car becomes much thirstier).
18's would be a good balance I reckon because it lets me keep a 45 profile tire which is still good for comfort.
I've been on 40 and 35 profile tires before and really didn't like it too much.
Don't forget that I have to keep the same rolling circumference so 19's on 45 profile tires will throw the speedo and ABS braking force out of whack.
You will have problem with the guard if you use 235. Since your whjeels already flush to the guard then use 225 for your front wheels and use 235 for your rear wheels. I even use 225 on my 8.5" & 9.5".
235 will fit 8" no problem, the worry is whether it will hit the guard at the front on a 8+45.
with 19s, 235/40/19 is the perfect size. while my 225/40/19 is only slightly smaller so it's not a big concern. smaller tyres have better accelaration hehe
but i won't be too concerned with going a little larger. becos the stock speedo always read under than true speed and you don't trigger ABS that often anyway (or so you'd hope).
also going larger =/= heavier. my 18s with tyres were 3kg each lighter than my stock 17s on my old EP3. i will weight mine stockies and 19s to see how much heavier it will be (i think 19s will be heavier).
stock wheels are (almost) always heavy so you never know.
Ok, spent the afternoon talking with a few local dealers about my chosen wheel and tire combo.
All of them looked at their dealer reference guides and said that 235/45/18 and +45 fitment is not an issue at all.
The trouble is, Kumho have had some massive price increases since I bought my last set of KU31's.
All my local shops quoted near enough to $300ea per tire!!!
And for Kumho!
Maybe they understand how good their tires really are and so have brought their pricing in line with everyone else...dunno?
So, what other quiet, durable, and decent handling tires are available in the spec I want?
Just so I know my options.
Cheers guys.
Only ever used BS RE001 and Conti SC2 in 18" Odyssey size. The BS got really noisy with a lot of tram lining near the end of their life. The Conti is pretty good. Both good grip is dry, BS wet grip not so fantastic, Conti is good in wet.
If noise is a concern don't go for directional tires, they are usually noisy due to the thread pattern. I've used Toyo Proxes 4 and Dunlop DZ101 and they are noisy as hell. Toyo TEO plus is quiet, but wet grip is a bit lacking and don't come in 18's.
I always buy KU31 from Tempe tyres because they are the cheapest.
Thanks Atjo.
I had a look around last night on the net and Tempe, along with another place in Sydney, appear to be cheaper than anywhere else, even Option 1 Garage up here in Brisbane.
I can get them for just under $200ea with a total of about $840 shipped.
Not bad at all considering how good these tires are.
They're a directional/asymetric tire but they're the quietest tire I've ever used and performed very well indeed on my hot Peugeot and before that, my Subaru.
That's why I'd really like to stick with them (no pun intended).
dunno how good these people are but http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/store/ are doing free shipping in October.
no harm getting a quote from them.
Hey guys,
Just wondering, will 18x8 +38 wheels fit 2011 Odyssey fine? Thinking of getting 225 or 235 all round.
Cheers.
fitted my wheels over the weekend and took the kid to school today.
i personally think 8 + 38 front is "very flush" and using 235 tyres may rub the guard if lowered unless u play with camber. 8 + 38 at the back would be perfect.
on 225/40/19, the steering is slightly sharper and ride is still fine with my Tanabe springs. i'm sure stock sussy will be fine. my golf on stock sussy on 225/40/18 was bumpier.
Ok, instead of starting a new thread i thought i'd use this as we are on the topic...
I've just ordered a new set of 20's and was told that the below should be fine
F: 20x8.5 + 40
R: 20x9.0 + 38
Now im thinking maybe i should have gone for 9.5 at the rear however not sure if they will fit (happy to roll guards a little) but dont want to go to crazy
Any input people? Also, what is low disk and high disk? Sorry for a silly questions but i got no idea what they mean when they say that
Also - attached is a pic of the look i am after - any suggestions on what tyre size?
Cheers
Maybe you can look at my wheels before i put negative camber in my thread. My wheels size is 20x8.5 +35 & 20x9.5 +15 and you can achieve to look like that. I use 225/35/R20 all around. I use Zeetex because it has 340 for the thread wear and it doesn't stretch as much.
Ok, so lets visualise our cars from behind not lowered and with the following setup
Me: 20x9.0+38 (tyres = 225/35/20)
You: 20x9.5+15 (tyres = 225/35/20)
Two questions:
1) How much more wider will yours sit out of the guards compared to mine?
2) Should i just get 9.5 width however still stick with +38 (will that still fit)
Thx yah bro :)
