Just wondering if its been done by anyone here or if anyone has any info about the change
In shortness - will ap2 front and rear bars will fit onto ap1 fine?
And also, is it right that ap2 front bars don't have hid washers
and finally, what's the price differnce between AP1 front bumper and Lip cmpared to the ap2 bumper and lip
Been done by a few here.
It all fits - except you may have to shave a corner or 2 off the support bar as my JDM AP2 front found out the hard way when I got dimples from the sharp corners.
JDM / USDM dont have HID washers - UK and AUS do.
AP1 front bumper primered: $600ish
AP1 front lip painted: $700ish
AP2 front bumper primered: $700ish
Ap2 front lip: $not sure
I got my ap2 bumper & lip out of Japan auction site for $550 delivered - but i was lucky.

got my ap2 front bar from honda
straight fit basically and didn't need to shave any corners from the support bar, although i didn't put back on the foamy part that sits in front of it.
ap2 rear bar fits too, no hassles, all bolts line up except the two right at the bottom.
the ap2 rear is taller, height wise (i think) so when u try to put the stock bolts back on at the bottom, theres a 10cm-ish gap.
all u need is 2 brackets to fill up that gap and ur sweet, or if ur lazy leave it out like i did and the rear bar's free to shake when u wash the car lol. might look flimsy but its still there atm.
Oh sweet, my panel beater should be able to sort that out.

So the price difference between AP1 and AP2 front bar, front lip and rear bars don't vary by much?
if anything its like 100bux difference or so

How's the pricing with these? Easy to source?
Prices vary, from fibreglass to carbon.
Expect to spend up to about $2000 for Grade A rare carbon front lip.
Alternatively, a fibreglass version of a more popular and easily sourced front lip will run you about $500ish.
I always loved the look of the BYS front lip. Very rare though.

i like the look of the j's racing half lip on ap1 bumper...but it has to be molded on! otherwise no go =D

yo, is there two different versions of AP2 (in australia)? like one old one and an updated one?
my panel beater mentioned something about the reinforcement bars or some shiznack like that
AP1 re-enforcement is different to AP2... AP1 is slightly longer..
so it doesn't really matter?
it does, you have to shave a bit off it, otherwise the corners can press through and damage the bumper.
on a scale of 1-10 in regards to difficulty... what would you rate it?

ps. you might want to consider ordering ap2 fender/undertray liners... you can get away without it, but apparently only of the screw holes (from the ap1 liner) line up with the ap2 bumper..

won't make a massive difference but if the level isn't right you're more likely to annoy oncoming drivers :D
I have US AP2 headlights and can verify the HID cut off is as above.
Just make sure to only ever use low beam towards oncoming traffic.

does anyone know if there is a different silver colour for ap2? or is ap1 and ap2 both the same silver colour?
I don't have ap2 headlights bud but you can source it out from s2ki.com for ~$900 AUd
if it's silverstone, it's the same. BUT silverstone is hard to match, so usually, you have to blend spray the whole thing onto the bonnet and fenders, so i've been told. you should've sprayed you're washers as well.
There is an AP2 colour called chicane (or sometimes synchro) which is basically a slightly darker version of silverstone, kind of between silverstone and moonrock i guess. it's also got more flake than silverstoneQuote:

your bar does look a little dark, but might be the angle.
if you still can get your washers colour matched like they are on the AP2s, looks heaps better!
I can't figure it out why my tow hook cover is brighter than my bumper. my bumper and bonnet match but my tow hook cover doesn't. I'll probably be taking my car back in the shop next Thursday cos of work 9-5pm from here till then and get my rear bar put on, tow hook sprayed and washers done as well
