Asking fog lights...

Dear all gurus of Honda :)

I bought a pair of OEM fog lights for my Jazz overseas and tried to install it.

The Seller (whom I bought the unit from) gave me a manual book that apparently is for the 2004 model of Honda Jazz. It got completely different fuse & connector arrangement (shown on the diagram of the manual)

We tried to compare the 'old' and 'new' fuse & connector in hoping that we manage to match where we should connect the cable in the fuse box; unfortunately we couldn't find on which connector we should connect the cable in.

Is there any of you guys happened to get this fog lights installed and get it working? It would be greatly appreciated if anybody with the access to the technical manual/ instruction book can share some info how to solve this issue :(

I've also tried to call the seller at overseas and unfortunately he also got the new manual for Jazz 2004 model only....

Plizz guys... need help here... :(

Yup...
the manual said the part number = 08V31-SAA-7010-91.
I dunno if it's gonna help you, but that's the only number I could find on it.

i am also planning to add some OEM fog lights onto my jazz. iwky_77, did u have to cut those black plastic covers to the shape of the fog lights or did u just take the whole of the plastic thing off??

Yup, it's installed already, although still can't use it...
Haven't got a change to call a guy TypeG gave me...... hopefully this week everything will be settled...

I'm about to change my fog light bulbs, but still unsure of the type that Honda Jazz used....

Anybody know what kind of bulbs I can use? I know that my headlights is using H4 type... but not sure on the fogs... Anyone has changed or replaced with the 'white-coloured' ones?

BTW bro... FOG LIGHT IS ILLEGAL to be use for un-approprite use.

u will get fined $50-100

so please use the fog light in the right time and right condition ^^

the standards they are referring to are the ADR's (australian design rules)

this means that if the lights are not a required light, i.e. not a headlight, indicator, brake light, tail lamp or reverse light, then they are not permitted regardless of where they are mounted or what colour they are

if you have interior lighting it is not allowed to be above the bottom of the windows. they are also not allowed to be switched on while driving.

also fog/driving lights are not permitted to be switched on. you can be fined for having them switched on, and in some states, if the fog/driving lights are non standard items, the fines are higher than if the lights were factory fitted. try tell a police officer that the hella lights that are on the try are standart

I wonder what will Honda say about selling an 'illegal' part (read: fog lights) in Australia.
If it's illegal, why they are allowed to sell and even installed it as a factory setting..... hmmm...
Someone said to me it's the same analogy as selling NOS kit.... you can sell but you can't use it.... but in the case of fog lights, we have all dealers in Australia selling fogs as a standard factory settings on several models....
And I guess the basic measurement of the car will stay remain the same... it's just a matter of putting more accesories and stuffs on it....

Any other idea? I wonder if there's a police officer being a member of this forum whom we can asked the opinion for...haha

Oh by the way... If it's really 'illegal'... BAGGA ME I'm in trouble then... :(

How many of those Commodore S SS HSV and Ford XR6 XR8 FPV driving with fog lights on in the bright sunny morning and afternnon.. Those lights annoy the sh*t out of me as they really make the opposite direction cars suffers...

I dun think any of them got fined ...

Yeah .. the only reason I can think of is... "Look at me, I've got a Holden or Ford xxx ..." kinda attitute..

No offence to those who is driving one of those cars.. but I think it is totally unnecessary... unless it comes with standard factory turn on by default when the car starts ??? :D

I got a friend of mine who stopped by the police for turning the fogs on. Although the road was wet and raining at that time and he tried to make an excuse by saying the road's wet and raining, bla bla, he still got fined for $100.... that's sucks.... I don't think he turned it on for any single 'funny' reason beside he really need it since it's night, road was wet, and it's raining..... yet he still got $100 fine.....sigh... :(... poor guy...

He told me to be really extra super duper carefull when using the fogs.... he seems to be soo paranoid now...haha... poor guy :o

He got factory fogs (VTi-S)...
I got Honda fogs installed recently (bought it from Honda overseas).
So that means mine is illegal and his is legal?

FOG LIGHT can be use. if the road is really2 foggy , and ussually when the road is foggy the police will inform throught radio station or television, other than police notice, The fog light is illegal to be used.

Note: in raining day you not allowed to use. because if u turn on fog light the other driver infront of you in the raining day will be see your car using a HIGH BEAM (due to rain reflection)

That's so true.. the WA police also give me the same reason when i got stopped >.<

BTW... Type S .... Limited Edition ... WAW.... May I See Your Engine? ... Type S jazz is 1.8L isn't ? i saw this car when i going to japan 3 weeks ago >.<

I got it from a friend in japan... got trouble too since the doov covers is intended for Honda Fit... and as you probably have known Honda Oz somehow change the side mirror for Oz version of Honda Jazz.....
Honda Fit got smaller and more sporty looks... while Oz Honda Jazz got...uhm....I dunno :D
Anyway, at least I managed to installed it on the car... :thumbsup:

I like those PIAA fog lights..... the stock ones are too yellowish.....

nice side mirrors too man..... do they auto fold??

Yeah... the stock fogs are amber coloured.... but now someone said on this forum the fogs have to be amber.... :o

Side mirrors.... unfortunately they r not auto fold....:o

I'm not sure the landed cost to Oz, but for the unit itself, I think it's about the same price as quoted on doov's website.... only a bit cheaper since my friend bought it from shop there....
Anyway I hope I can find the invoice for the exact price :thumbsup:
