Every thing should fit from what i know but the ECU are different so presume you would need wiring sorted out, hope some one can shed some more light
Spend the money on a K24 instead. It'll be cheaper also
^^ Agreed...
Make sure you research before purchasing though
thx. I just need a replacement engine for my car.....only want something that bolt straight on....
But would a k24 be a easy fit like the k20z? Cus the euro chasis is different the dc5
A guy has recently put a K24 in his Dc5.. in the noob thread somewhere cause he hydrolocked his k20a2...
As i said research into it...
Shouldnt be to hard though
^^ THATS ME! lol.
Get the K24 bro, you will be very happy. Its cheaper and full of TORQUEY goodness. Try to find a 06+ K24A3, I think they are the ones that come with the oil cooler. Essential items are, engine mounts- i use hasports 60a or 62a i think they are street mounts and my car rattles LESS than it did before for some reason. KPRO ecu -source this first because your going no where without it and a tune. I went to Toda. It took Adrian 3 hours. Oh and find a mechanic that knows what his doing. Someone that specialises in Honda. I remember my former mechanic saying that he had to rearrange parts, trim stuff down and the K24 sat abit higher than the k20
Whats everyone's take on a stock k24 vs k20z?
kw is high on the k20, tq is higher o the k24;

I would love to have a k24 block in my dc5, but obviosuly not going to do the transplant unless tehre is somethign wrong with my block.
Awesome job V8KLLR! I wana do sumfin like that too but dont think its worth it unless sumfin goes wrong with my motor.
Thanks man! I've done alot more to it since then. Just kept it on the down low cause people talk too much trash and I didnt want thieves to know what parts I have. If you want an NA monster go K20/24 frank. Im leaning more towards force induction of some sort. One thing I miss about my k20a2 is the VTEC and the loud crossover. But I looove the torque and power I get throughout the revs with the K24a3
We swapped a k20z1 complete short block into a dc5r that was starved of oil at the track and did some major damage. The k20a2 head bolts straigt on the z1 block, so i would assume that the only change would be ecu, if you are using kpro then it should all be fine. Dunno if this sheds any light, but the 24 will be much cheaper, a Z1 short block from honda was about 6 grand!! ouch!!
I heard if you do some engine mods to the k24 it will have as much or more (im not sure) revs as the k20 and on top of that more torque.
And if you really put some good time and effort and money into a K20A, it goes hard... K20A can push good numbers without making it a K24, ask Adrian from TODA
Hybrid is good and all but a pure K20A.... mmmmmmm thats yummy
If you really wanted to have a power house, i suggest looking at k24/26 if you got the balls and are a baller ^^
i thought you were referring to the jdm k20a
Hectic off topic lol. Thread title is k20z1
Do you have pics of the k24 swap you did V8KLLR? Even pics of engine bay, i really wana see X]
Yea Ill take a snapshot once I get off this 24 hr shift ....
Yea I swapped the rocker cover over so its wrinkle red. Yea it looks exactly like a k20 except that it sits approx 12mm higher I think and somethings had to get trimmed down.
