Will Enkei PF01's fit on my s2000?

Hey all.

After many months of looking at Various wheels I have finally found a set that I actually like and want, Enkei PF01's. I want them in either 17s or 18s, preferably 18s.

The yare available on ebay at the moment in the following sizes:

Front: 18x8 with +45 offset
Rear: 18x8.5 with +48 offset

and the 17s are available in:

Front: 17x7.5 with +45 offset
Rear: 17x8 with +50 offset

Offsets confuse me and I don't know a great deal about them. Will they fit though? If so, what size would I be better off with?
My fenders are already rolled if that means anything.
My car is stock height at the moment, however I plan on eventually lowering it just enough to seal the gap between the fenders and tyres (if that is going to effect anything).

both combinations will fit pretty good with your s2000. of course the 18's would look a bit better as they would stick out a tad bit more then the 17's.

I'm a little worried about the wheels sticking out past the fenders, will this happen?
Also, do you know what lowering the car will do to the fitment? Will this fitment hurt the cars handling at all? Performance is important to me.

nah, it won't stick out pass the fenders on those specs.
And with lowering, it really depends on how much you lower it. If you dump it, you can say good bye to your performance.
However, lowering below the stock height is also beneficial, but it also depends on your set of coilovers, control arms, camber arms and all these other random supports you have down there haha.
And in regards to the fitment, it won't really do anything since your guards are rolled and the offset is quite "high".
I'll be running 9" width all round on +45, it only needs a roll, and a bit of camber (mainly for cornering) :)

Oh, I don't want to dump it, I only want to lower it a little over an inch, just to minimise the gap between the fenders and the tyres and also to improve handling and stability through corners.
So they will look good and keep performance good? Cool, thanks for you help!

Yeah! it will be fine :D
you can lower it to have maybe 1 or 2 finger gap and still have good performance. Make sure you get a wheel allignment done though!

Compared to stock 16inch wheels, the you wheels will stick out the following amounts:
(Stock Front 16x6.5 +55, Stock Rear:16x7.5 +65)

Front: 18x8 with +45 offset
Inner Clearance: 9mm Less
Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 29mm
Rear: 18x8.5 with +48 offset
Inner Clearance: 4mm MORE
Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 30mm


Front: 17x7.5 with +45 offset
Inner Clearance: 3mm Less
Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 23mm
Rear: 17x8 with +50 offset
Inner Clearance: 9mm MORE
Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 21mm

you can use the offset calculator to get an idea for other rim sizes:

with rolled fenders, those sizes should clear (depending on tyre size and amount of camber of course).

yes those sizes will fit easily you could even go fatter

Ride height doesn't improve handling and stability, its your dampeners and spring rate setup along with alignment that does.

For what its worth, You should go for 9.0 all the way round. Will look heaps tough.

I have 17X8 +45 Front, 17X9 +45 Rear. Regret that I kept the stagger fitment. My guards are rolled, and rears are cambered - car is lowered.

Isn't it better for the car and the way it handles to keep the staggered fitment?
I'm equally concerned about performance as I am about looks.
If I go up to 9 inch it voids my insurance too.

its not really "better" it's more personal preference some people like to drive with a staggered setup due to the understeer.

Get the 2004+ Wheel size stickers and slap it on, since the ap2 runs 8.5" rims standard.

I thought it was only rim diameter that has those restrictions... hrmm... none the less, if you want to stick with those specs and are going SBC finish (chrome) I'm willing to trade ya out my immac fronts (8.0") and give you a bit of cash for your troubles. I want 9" goodness all the way round!

Nah you can only go 2 inches wider, as for Diameter, you have to be within 15mm of the standard rolling diameter for it to stay legal and insured.

I was actually origionally tossing up between RPF1's and Lenso D1R's.

The shipping cost of the RPF1's ended up being rediculous and wit hthe Lenso's I kept getting screwed around.

For some reason I hadn't seen the PF01's and now I want them more than I ever wanted the RPF1's or Lensos.
I know the RPF1's are about 500 grams lighter, but who cares lol.

As vyets said, no not necessarily. I run staggered - 255F and 265R. Does that count? Lol

Definitely no understeer, but I can step on it fairly early exiting corners. It's about finding the right balance.

Well I don't know a whole lot about it, but staggered seems better to me. Narrower front = better turning and wider rear = more grip and less oversteer, therefore able to take corners faster.
And less understeer is always good, lol.

Yeh - put simply - in relation to the rear, the more grip/wider the contact patch at the front, the more responsive the turn-in. Generally, you'll also experience more oversteer. The more grip/wider the contact patch at the rear, the less oversteer you will experience. Generally, an easier car to handle too. So, it's a trade-off and preference between, an increase in turn-in, steering response, and braking, and a more neutral (or even understeering) driving experience. For the road, staggered is best for most folks - no need to go non-staggered unless you want to pull hectic cornering speeds in the 'burbs.

I recently fitted 265 Star Specs at the rear and have my old 225 RE760 Sport up front, and it feels like I'm driving a FWD car. Was plowing all through the great ocean road on Sunday in the wet.

What's the widest tyre you can fit onto an 8" rim? I'm toying with the idea of 245 up front (+55 offset), think I'd need a fender flare too given I'm 1" lowered?

^ Fender flare just in case, but 245 with +55 offset and 1" drop should fit snug.

Although you can, I wouldn't go more than 245 with an 8" rim. Yeh, 225 RE760 front vs 265 Z1 SS rear will give you understeer for sure! Again, it's about balance.

No worries, Great Ocean Road is amazing in s2000. In the summer I went every weekend, some times both days lol :P

Not so much the size of the tyre but the type of tyre as well, UHP on the rear and your regular POS on the front 100% unda unda undaaa

You prob don't need a flare but 100% you need to roll it just in case, you ALWAYS need to roll your front guards if you are lowing your car even on stock wheels.
