I got the stockies on atm, perhaps ill have to change rims? spacers? etc.?
just wondering if i could just uprate my brakes this way, rather than buying some blardy expensive aftermarket set.

if you mean the whole set including front kunckles and trailing arms then yes it will fit but you would also need new rims since its 5 lug.
you would also need the Master cylinder and brake booster from the DC2R aswell.
you can use DC2R front calipers, instead of going through the expensive way of 5lug.
you use:
-DC2R/EK9 calipers
-Prelude 282mm rotors 4x114 (must be re-drilled to 4x100 to suit your car)
-Machine 2-3mm (search this up) off the calipers bracket that mounts to the knuckle.
NOTE!! i have never done this so search more if your interested. and this is for the front only.
would also be wise to upgrade the brake booster/master cylinder to DC2R/EK9 version, but EM1 version will still do a good job.

if u go full 5 stud conversion off a dc2r u will need to re use ur standard em upper control arms
hmmmm interesting, i was too thinking about going dc2r, but what about ek9 brakes, same as dc2r?
im in similar dilemma, but i already have 282mm rotors in 4*100, Dc2 BMC/Booster in place, just need calipers n pads to make it all work lol.
apparently ITR, Prelude and Accord V6 (97-02?) are all same caliper, can anyone confirm? it save us guys lookin to upgrade a fortune instead of forking out for "type-R" gear.Quote:

indeed, but i went the extra effort of doing rear disc conversion, as well as the BMC and booster conversion using Dc2 ones. Dc2 BMC an booster ive been told is the same as dc2r, so ur better off paying less for the dc2 one than dc2r ones.Quote:

The only thing im not so sure is the grinding part, very sketchy on that part, an who or were can i get it done..... Ive used a angle grinder before, but i wouldnt bet on my own skills LOL

no DC2 have smaller brake master cylinders than DC2R's.
im sort of in the process of getting information on how to make DC2R/EK9 calipers fit under 15" wheels. it is possible, but the design of spokes and offset will determine if they fit under 15's.
the machining may be done at many places...brake specialists, machining specialists....etc
i did the research a while ago and apparantly civic ek4 vti-r wheels clear the dc2r brake calipers. so 15" wheels are fine.
there are spoon brake conversion parts available which i think eliminates the need to shave or machine the ITR caliper brackets (maybe someone can confirm?). The parts available are 3mm spacers, 4x100 282mm rotors, and longer hub bolts. Maybe some 1 can also confirm if these parts are legal? My knowledge is that spacers are illegal..
DC2 uses 15/16" BMC whereas as type R is 1" BMC.
are you sure?, well on my master cylinder its stamped as 1 inch, and i believe dc2r use the exact same size..... so thats a upside, so it must be either the same as dc2r or has different internals to that of dc2r, since it came out of a late model dc2, prove me wrong though :)Quote:

okay mugen.. so you just got the DC2 master & booster? how much did you round that up for? did you go to the wreckers?
i brought the rear disc conversion with BMC + booster for 300 off someone wrecking a dc2, he had everything i needed so i didnt end up going to any wreckers, give or take, any where from 100 - 150 i would assume your suppose to pay lol, i think ur better off gettin it off someone whos wrecking a dc2, cheaper than any wreckers, but if u cant, wreckers will be last resort..... As for the work, DIY all the way, putting in the Booster was a pain, had to remove my seats to get under the dash to screw it one as well as the pin to the pedal, than as for the actual fitment in the engine bay, was a pain, very little room for something thats much bigger than oem one lolQuote:

thanks buddy.. i'll keep that in mind. But yeah, if it'll fit the CTR.. it shud be somewhat easier to install than the ITR one, considering its similar design.
btw.. wouldn't the CTR's calipers be similar to the ITR's in terms of stopping capability? So why not get the calipers from the CTR, rather than having to do some risking mission in grinding metal.? but i imagine it would be rather expensive. =='

u would need to shave them a few mm, the thread above tells u about it.
ek9 and dc2r are the same
only difference is the control arms
some ek9 models didnt have abs
you can use any brake booster from a ek9 or dc2r with the 1nch bmc

upon closer look, some preludes, and accord use the same pads as ek9/dc2r, so id assume they are infact using the same caliper, as the part numbers of the pads are the exact same, but what i need to know, would the bracket be interchangeable on civics from those other models....
Dc2r fits on ek just need to retain the control arms. Also if you want bang for buck get the crv setup it's the same size as dc2r just gotta grind a bit off to fit it.
