Hi guys how do i make my vtec crossover
more prominent? I already have pod filter.
Sorry should add its an '05 cl9
ummmm I would say use a cold air intake and then change some engine components to allow more air to breath
Like throttle body?
i-VTEC doesn't cross over like the old VTEC's in the B-series, especially in the K24, its very gradual in comparison.
And i-VTEC hits at 6000 rpm... redline is 7400rpm (in comparison... K20 in the teg redline's 8100), not much to play with... so even if you hear something it wont be much.
You can hear vtec kick in at 6g but
i want it "fxck off" loud
So theres pretty much nothing
i can do??
Spewin!!
Do a b18c7 swap! Lol jokes..
Louder cross over doesn't necessarily mean a good thing for 1 my b16a crossover is loud as a mother ****er but thats Coz the b16 is such a nugget that by 5500rpm engine is running out of puff and then suddenly VTEC kicks in q boom comes the aggressive rush! A more finely tuned engine eg b18c7 or k series has a more subtle cross over.
Dude you drive a family sedan...
have you try the change the intake system?
injen will be good for you,
looking around $500 at JDMyard
u cant actually hear the v-tec sound for the standard setting mate
change the intake will be the cheapest way to get it~
I heard that using rice to power the car makes a loud VTEC sound!
VVTI JUST KICKED IN YO.
not true about ivtec motors crossover, my jdm k20a crossover is louder vs b16a,b18c,b20vtec,h22a's ive owned
My vtec is pretty loud but the joy is over in a second... it gets longer the higher gear your in vtec 4th gear goes for about 2 seconds but I don't recommend doing that of course
cheer guys...
To make it more prominent, a CAI would help as the crossover is more distinct. With just a pod filter in the engine bay, it is always loud so you don't notice the crossover as much.
Also, the difference between low cam (<6000rpm) and high cam (>6000rpm) is pretty small when you look at the cam's regular and VTEC lobe profiles. So the crossover is already less distinct to begin with due to design and specification. This is a reason why the K20A's crossover is much more distinct than the K24A.
Lol win comment.
Anyways, why would you want a louder car?
If you do, change your pod so it sits outside the engine bay, cai or diy with few items from bunnings and super cheap auto.
Disconnect your cat back from the headers, saves you weight and more free flowing air.
Now should be a proud owner off a defect-able car, hey but wth you got loud as vtec right?
AND now you can own old ass camry's and look cool too.
I heard a weapon r header makes the cross over very noticeable. Should look into it.
Weapon R header, injen CAI, fujitsubo exhaust, tune... VTEC = Epic.
header + test pipe and intake = loud vtec

Trying to make vtec louder only is like wrx owners Installing loud BoVs.... Pure wank
Do I see a record your vtec thread coming
Install rbc manifold , will make vtec crossover noise much more distinct ..

Wider throttle body too anything that will slow more air to come in to the engine even a tune would help
drain oil, fill with sand and run for 5 minutes, will port out the head and vtec solinoid giving you a nice loud noise.
All these mods, let's all go to Wakefield and have a CL9 vs CU2 day. :p
Throw some Aurions in as well.
Lower vtec engagement without other ECU map changes = loss of power.
If you do 4000-6000rpm with an SRI and full throttle, it sounds like VTEC anyway. It's because the low cam lobe is more aggressive than even the DC5R. Our high cam lobe is piss weak, but that is because the engine doesn't rev much higher after that anyway.
if you want a louder vtec crossover, get the same mods as this.
sounds legit.
