Grey scotch > plastic primer > paint.
whats grey scotch? O.O i never heard of it before.
Ask your local paint shop.
Like a green scotch brite scouring pad but its grey dude
For best result yu would have to sand it back
Lol wut!?
Waste of time dude.
Sony panel shops don't even scotchie new plastics. Sanding it would be waste of time.
Sanding gets rid of the old orange. Being a new unpainted lip there's no peel on it. So you just need to scratch the surface to help adhesion thus why you scotch it.
Don't give your bad advice if you don't know.

Sean
Oh right, i'll ask my local paint shop when i have time, in the meantime i tried googling green scotch brite and it came up as a sponge looking thing, is that right? =\
I was thinking of just applying 1 to 2 coats of primer then just apply the paint and then clear coat
yeah but they have grey ones too, theyre finer abrasive
Don't bother. Doesn't need primer.
Just get that grey scotch. Rub
It thoroughly until full matte then buy a plastic primer in a can. K&H have it. It's just a clear primer for plastic that you don't need to rub. Do not let the primer dry too much. Wait a few minutes then apply your colour.
What lip is it? OEM or replica? I got a replica lip and had to sand some rough patches and plasti-bond some little divets. I recommend sanding, primer, then paint.
waste of time. I've painted about 39846798 plastic lips, OEM And replica. no difference. only thing is replicas tend to have small plastic defects where you get some 600 wet and rub it off. you dont need to rub the whole lip.
DO NOT HI FILL(primer) your lip. its a waste of time and money. so stupid.
Everyone just listen to chauster! DAMMIT!
I gotta replica and done the same too, but when i painted it the factory coloour (mixed from green valley autobarn) it turned out pretty dark, what colour is G82P?? Is it Dark Green Pearl or Cypress Green Pearl Metallic? I looked it up on the net and saw them 2 =\
without actaully colour matching and spraying out on your car its not possible to match your car colour 100%. even if you gave your car to them you still wont be able to get 100%.
