The engine is running stable when cold starts.
Runs well in gear but when I stops at traffic lights and hitting the clutch, rpm drops under 500 and sometimes stall. Somehow it can starts up straight away...
Mine is a 93 b16a Eg... why would this happen and how can i fix it? Anyone help?
IACV needs cleaning.

after cleaning the IACV, problem remains after 15mins drive.... any other reasons causing that??? HELP....
Does it only happen when you come to a stop and clutch in?
If you put it in first, clutch in while rolling at 20k or so, do the revs drop? Or put it in neutral and clutch in.
Maybe the clutch is dragging ie not fully disengaging when the pedal is in.
However, if it fixed then came back after 15 mins I'd suggest its got something to do with iacv/ the intake and all its associations.
On your model there will also be an FITV (fast idle throttle valve) mounted beneath the throttle body. This also probably needs cleaning and possibly readjusting. Google FITV and you should get several instruction threads/videos on how to do this.

What if you're stopped, in neutral, then clutch in and put it into first while still stopped with your other foot on the brake?

Q1. Is this happening when the engine is warming up (from cold start)? Q2. Is it happening only once engine is fully warmed up? Q3. What idle revs is your engine doing (no load, in neutral) at start up (cold) and once fully warmed up?

From what you've said, I'm inclined to agree with trism (post 6), something in the IACV/cold start function/throttle body etc. The IACV in particular controls more than just the base idle (in fact the base idle is controlled by an air bleed screw), it's function is in fact to compensate the idle when loads are placed on the engine by such things as the A/C, engine cooling fans, P/steering, anything that would cause the engine to drop below idle speed. It is controlled by the ECU and sensors and there could be a fault on that side of things. (it's water supply is only to prevent it freezing up in very cold conditions)Quote:
