Hi Ozhonda, as the title says i'm having trouble of which springs to choose for my 96 Civic Coupe. And if possible, can you guys post a picture of ride height (approximately) of what it'll look like? I'm currently on stock ride height with sportmaxx's (15x7 +38). Thanks guys
Tein will be a better quality spring, but if you buy it from overseas you will have no warranty, kings do exactly the same thing and have a lifetime warranty, Koni also do a coil set that are quite cheap and work very well on the street with a 35mm drop f&r.
Yeah i was planning on getting it overseas since its cheaper (correct me if i'm wrong). Why do most people say skunk2 aren't that great? Is it because the springs are like really stiff? And can you link me the koni coil set please?Quote:

The biggest issue with Skunk2 coils is that the material isn't as high quality as other brands, so the longevity isn't there
King springs may do exactly the same thing, but after a couple years they'll sag like titties. Tein might be a better option if you're planning on lowering your car.Quote:

To compare, the Kings are 230lb front and 125>220lb rear - so they are softer than the Eibach Pro kit, but about the same as the Tein S.Tech (firmer in the rear though)

Having driven same car with kings then fitted with s-tech I can say the teins felt nicer to me and others who drove it
Somehow they arent as harsh riding yet feel tighter and more controlled
Kings have this weird characteristic of being soft but harsh riding,they tend to crash over bumps yet feel soft on corners.Very odd

Was on Koni yellow for both
S tech all the way... Not only are they more firmer, and ride more better, but over all, the quality is just better...
Though different car, The car we fitted S tech to, a CL9, the car felt much better, handles and ride quality... Though the drop is only minimal, at very most, 1.2 - 1.4 inch drop, its still looks sporty with that lower ride height....
The spring rates are not overly stiff, only slightly firmer, so its not back breaking or too soft
Though you dont need to change shocks, its always a recommendation to do so if ur running a lower ride from performance pov...
I just bought S-techs for my EJ8, should be here in couple weeks, hope they bring my ride down to a good height. Needa save up for shocks now. Would tokico hp's be fine with the s-techs? Its the cheapest one if i can remember.

and I took a ride in a BB6 prelude with the tokico+spring set before, they were soft....but pretty comfy tho
Then now Im running the same set up with Skunk2 shocks + H Tech springs (of integra) on my EG
it's not too low but firm and more than enough stiffness on the street and hill (not for track tho)

Yeah i read that counterfeit section before i considered buying them, but i sure will check it once i get it, should be here by next week. I'll let you guys know the verdict incase any of you guys are interested in buying a set for yourself :)

LOL you can always sell them and get S-techs, i reckon s-techs are a perfect drop if you want stance AND comfort. I heard skunk2's are really stiff hence very rough riding because they give a big drop.Quote:
