Hey guys,
ive gone through 3 sets of parker lights since last november and its poo! lol im not sure what the problem is but my mate (whos got an ep3 aswell) has the same problem.
i was told i have a xenon kit on my car but im not sure if thats got anything to do with anything since the xenon kit is the headlight and not the parker light.
anyone have this problem before?
Are u using aftermarket LED parker bulbs or the normal bulbs??
Are your license plate lights LED as well??
If so, then you will beed to install a resistor box to eliminate the bulbs frm blowing
Doubt my license plate lights are LED but my Parker's are aftermarket ones. They're SMD's
are they cheapo one? They tend to blow more easily

I'm using mtec LED parkers and no. plate bulb, being half year now still going good...
had it on my previous car and it lasted for years..
LED or SMD ...doesnt matter, - they are both light emitting diodes even though SMD is abbreviated differently. LOLQuote:

yeh it's like that. on the FD civic i had LED parkers for 3 years and they blew straight away on the prelude. my electrics must be too old and have current spikes or something.
Yeah. It looks slightly different as the groves on the meal part is smooth and the clear part is white for my Parkers. So u guys reckon it's electronic spikes and I should get a resistor box?

Go wire a resistor in. i think it's the current spike - do you start the car with the lights on?

The second pair I had was weird. I forgot to mention this...
The Parker appeared to be blown but when I opened the hood and took out the socket, I pushed the Parker in a bit and moved it around and it went bright again but if it moved a little then it would go dim again... Hope I explained that properly lol
If you get higher grade led's you dont have to worrie about voltage/ current spikes, i use these in a couple cars and they have lasted well over a year so far and still going strong.

They are non-polarizred and are rated to 30 v rather than cheap ebay ones that are rated at 12v.
Nearly every bulb in my car is Led, i dont use a resistor box, just good quality Leds.
the cheap ebay ones blow very easy. Noticed they blew more when I had epic audio setup, thus dimming lights on sub hit. But since down sizing audio and increasing earthing all over, LED's have been lasting almost a year now. Your other option is to just buy a bulk lot and keep few i car to swap as they blow. Cost me $10 for about 15 a while ago, hustle ebay hong kong seller lol
haha, im actually gonna go with TbM's suggestion and get the 30V ones and if that fails im gonna put in the resistor box.
