Thats the euro model tho (hopes there will be a dif model)... looks okish, I think it would grow on me.
Sigh.
Guess I can grow to like it, IF it's coming down under.
well i was reading into it more on the TOV site and the 5 door is for the euro market only... it would be great if we got the si, otherwise I would be very angry at honda Australia
wow, looks good/different esp. in the orange Type S pearl
glasshouse hatch at the back is a nice touch, torsional stiffness not that good though? rear door handles are hidden ala alfa 147
not a big fan of the whole 'one piece' tailight and the sci-fi inspired exhausts
should have a grille to seperate the one piece front light as well
wonder what the sedan looks like? :D
needs bigger wheels (!) but already a good base for a hi-po Type R version
goes back to the low, wide stance as opposed to the current high, dumpy looking version
remind me a bit of A3 when i first saw it
looks sick! i really like that grill on the front, or what ever you'd call it:thumbsup:
v nice.. but side view looks a bit liike 206
I personally think that the grey moldings make it look cheapish but I wouldn't mind seeing a Type R version
yeah i gotta say im a fan. only thing to change is that one peice rear light. i havnt found any where stating what size engine will be used but they say the Type R will make about 250Hp. do u guys rekon the aussie delivered version will be much different to that? i wish they hadnt gone that Alfa style door handle and instead done an RX8 style suicide door thing. now that woulda been cool
.........i'm not too sure about it ...i hope it will be very diffrent when it comes to production
it sure looks different doesnt it?
looks like a perguoet.
ive never been a huge fan of the new civics....
id prefer an older model n e day!
me too :DQuote:

I dunno, everything looks cool when you look at it individually, but as a total put together package.....something's not right.
holy peugeot look-a-likes batman!
i believe with proper mod the car will look hot... many people didnt like the ek civic when it was first launched as well... by the way, which civic version is coming to australia? i think the 2006 civic si looks so damn good, better than this one. but i doubt its coming to oz....
well it would be good if we didnt get the shape civic that the type r comes out in therefore allowing us to apply for import, similar to the EP3. 2006 Si is most likely pack'n a k20a which will be 1337
suicide doors look better on 'bigger' cars?Quote:

seriously, the engineering behind suicide doors to meet all regulations e.g crash worthiness etc is enormous. not really worth it unless the car is something high profile/halo car like RX8 (is there any other current production car with suicide doors?)
anyway, still reckons the new 'vic looks pretty good
they're not suicide doors are they? the rear door handles are at the back, alfaresque type. hmm.....interesting rear windscreen.......
yeah thats a good point 7th gen. Does anyone know when we are gonna see a sedan though! im really itchin to see what they have planned for it
sorry but wat do u mean by pack'n a k20a which will be 1337?? cheersQuote:

official press release from honda:

no mention of engine except for the 2.2 diesel - is this the same diesel in the diesel euro accord only available in europe?
any thoughts on drivetrain/engine options? someone mentioned K20A..........
to me, it would be logical to use a revised version of the current civic engines - D17A etc. maybe up the power and torque a bit or a small incr. in capacity
what was the point in developing a new series of engines for 7th gens then junk them for 8th gens? to me does not make any financial sense.........
unfortunately not a lot of people here will be happy with that prospect - not hi-performance, no K20A etc etc etc

interesting to note they call it a 'rice rocket' - what about all the 'JDM yo'/anti-rice freaks which seem to dominate on this forum here? :D
Honda Civic concept
Out goes the bread van, in comes the rice rocket! This is a concept car that shows the theme if not the sheet metal of the next generation European Civic, and it certainly breaks with its predecessor.
The design is conspicuously cab-forward with a notably shorter rear door than front door, accentuated by an even shorter rear window and a quarter-light ahead of the front door. This combines with a steeply diving body side crease, and an Alfaesque prominent front door handle and hidden rear door handle to give it a very strong sporty appeal.
The full width glazed front and rear lamp graphics, and an unusual bustle backed rear tailgate, are other unusual design features.
Exactly how this concept relates to the soon to be launched production Civic five door is hard to know, but whilst potentially losing some of the current car’s spaciousness might seen counter intuitive, the strongly dynamic flavour of the new design certainly would appeal as well as being a return to previous Civic’s sporting design orientation.
it looks dead ugly x_x worse than any zombie =/
This will be the best looking Civic since the EG! :p
Each to their own opinion on the looks of the thing.
But one thing's for sure... this thing is going to fly! It looks low, agile and stable. Wonder if there will be a AWD version in Japan. Could be a WRC contender? (Okay, so maybe I'm dreaming)
On thing about the looks... this is definitely an improvement. It's not the best looking car around, but designing the best looking car is impossible. I must say the clear rear panel looks pretty shocking. Don't like the way the indicator panels on the back stick out. But other than that, it looks pretty cool. I'm sure it will grow on me when I see it in person.

looks strange but ok..
stoped liking civic after the ek
thunbs up for the new civic
I like the accord Euro and DC5's new-school styling cues, but the new civic concepts look like fkn renaults !!!
the US Si Coupe looks OK, but the Orange UK civic is pure renault style ing on the grille and lights etc.. urghhh
that would look nice with and aggressive kit
