i hab a stock dc2r,
i got it Dyno at ADVAN [SYD], and i got 90kw atw
After installing a Injen cold air intake kit i got 100.9kw atw
After leaving the workshop, i gave it abit.... DAMNnnN it was LOUD... and abit more power... wat i love the most is the sucking air sound.:D
hope this dyno read would help others ;)
So a stock DC2R pulls 90kw on Advans dyno? Makes me very happy :D
Makes me feel more and more that
106kw at the wheels vtir on Bd'4s Dyno with intake/Exhaust/header was a bit to high
ide hate to put it on another dyno and get less ahahahah

As I did the runs, I can say that both runs were done on the same day, about an hour appart. (very similar conditions)
3 before runs, 3 after runs. The best of each was selected for comparison.
Runs were done in 4cyl shootout mode.(Inertia 80 / ramp rate 100)
Temp probe on the wall of dyno room.
Temp probe wasn't inserted into airfilter to minimise correction factor & level the playing feild so to speak. + it made the runs that much quicker as they was no charge for these... (Hard to resist with a bone stock car... Good result for the Injen)
Damn that intake makes the car sound good... LOL
wow shows how much different dyno's are ... dyno down here stock dc2r's were getting 111-112kw@wheels

Great post!! Only intake mods can get 11kw. Same as turbo. Hehee...
yknow looking at the CAI, i dont see anything thats so spectacular about the set-up. mandrel bent SS 2" piping.. what type of filter is attached to the end? i dont doubt the results though, just wonder why such a product is so expensive.
most exhaust shops will be able to throw a set-up together for under $200 easily.
but i guess for those results, the cost is justifiable.

Dyno Dave & I have said time & time again, the length & diameter of an intake is critical.
The injen works because the hard yards have been done & it's an already dyno proven product.
The slapped together backyard intake or houso exhaust shop intake, really doesn't come even close. (In both terms of performance & fit & finnish)
To go better you need to either develop your own on the dyno or purchase something that performs as well.
The cost of the product cover's it's purchase, freight & importation cost.
Obviously those selling it are making money, else they'd not be selling it.
The cost of manufacturing something covers more than the actual bone cost of production. It also pays for the development & intelectual property of the bloke who made it in the first place.
ay how much did the whole setup for the injen cost?
$670 fitted and dyno sheet mate!
