Hi
I'm looking to get a new set of coilovers for my eg2 track car but don't know exactly what way to go
I only want to spend around $2000-2500 max
I'm told hsd or silvers are half of that price and just as good as anything for that money
I've been looking at k&w v3 or buddyclub race spec
Any advice would be appriciated

ive driven an integra with buddy club N+ its soo good so the race spec should be better
Yeah looking towards them, there's a big gap between cheap and super expensive coilovers, not much Inbetween!
I personally noticed a huge difference between the ride of cheaper (ksport ect) coilovers and my jic's. I'd reccommend forking out the bit extra a buying a decent brand especially if it's going to be for track use. For the money your talking you could get a nice set off of yahoo auctions Japan. I personally bought mine from a shop here but you can get cheaper by finding them yourself ad using Jesse streeter to get them to you
For the price I'd go something like buddy club race specplus front and rear integra type r swaybars.
These , combined with good running gear ( ie proper LSD etc) should be the basics for a "track only" civic.
Mind you - swaybars do great things but are less effective when majorly lowering your car
GAB SS are priced at $1250 and have proven to work on street and track cars. We have them on a certain production Integra DC2R running 1:10's. We also have them other Honda's and Mitsubishi EVO's running them on the track and having great success with them
Unreal so the gab ss get fairly low with still manintaing a good amount of travel, I notice the tien ss in the rear wasn't far off stock height with little travel
In your honest opinion does the price jump between the gabs and buddyclub race spec match the performance?

i looked on the JIC magic website but nothing for eg/dc2?

I'd say just go for buddyclub rsd. Dnyall uses them in his track only civic!
The GAB SS height adjustments are made from the base. The shocks and springs are preloaded from the factory, so travel wont be affected as long as you adjust it from the base. They can be lowered fairly low as well.Quote:

No I havnt to be honest did you buy dampers and springs separate or do they make a full coilover setup?
they make a spring and shock combo or u can buy the coilover they make

Might struggle to get Aragostas on his budget though...
QRS [Quantum Racing Suspension] would be something too but again, I don't think on his budget...
See if you can get some J's Racing Crux, have heard good things and their performance.
Drove an EF8 with them but only spirited street driving. Handled very well, super stiff, nice damper and adjustment.
Might be worth considering.
I have heard of aragostas there pretty big in Japan but I'm really leaning towards AMR, hand built to order, lifetime warranty and Andy himself called me today to see exactly what I want out of the coilovers to build them to suit
+ affordable
Im also dealing with Andy at the moment^ His customer service is A+ and his products look so quality.

Yeah exactly which was a huge selling point for me, anyone offering a lifetime warranty on there dampers must be selling quality

Nah not yet, still finalising/deciding exactly what i want. But i've only heard good things about AMR so its highly likely ill go with them!

Keep this thread updated with how the AMR setup is when you recieve them! Keen to hear what they are like as i was sooo close to ordering some too.. I ended up going with Zeals instead.
Keen to hear your feedback on these coilovers too. I've been through a few different suspension setups for a street driven car and still haven't found what i'm looking for.
No worries as soon as I install them and take it to the track I'll update the thread with the feedback
which eg2 is this. the one that was at honda nats with like 20,000kms?

Yeah that's my one it's only 9,000kms on the clock lol that's car and motor irs basically new
Yeah i was running 1:15 flat at the last day with the super streets and my inlet manifold was leaking
So hopefully with my manifold sealed properly and the AMR coils ill shave a couple more seconds off
AMR's came a few says ago and look unreal! Machining quality and finish is perfect and clicks feel really tight on the damper adjusters.
In terms of height I installed them as they came and I've got a 10mm gap at the most from guard to tire and there is still plenty to go if desired.
I'll be taking the car to Honda nationals and I'll let you all know what I think after that.
I had a chance to try out the Amr's on the track at the Honda nationals and they felt great! I got down to a 1.14 and hadn't really done any adjusting to the damper settings I left them all at 2 clicks of soft and drove
The car felt a heap more stable at both high speed and tight corners
A definite step up from the Tein ss
