There are all the same. Your variables are pipe diameter and where you sit the air filter.
You should really get a tune after a cai is installed or you'll just burn extra fuel for no reason.
Injen sounds nice i got one in mine. But all personal preference. They look shiny aswell
There are two kinds of Induction styles on a NA car. SRI, short ram intake. Pod filter on a stick or CAI, cold air intake made in such a way that cold air from outside the engine bay is routed to the pod filter.
Gains untuned wouldnt be really that noticeable. But the VTEC engagement becomes much more audible.
And no your not going to burn extra fuel for no reason. If anything you should be running a bit leaner as your getting in colder air if you have a CAI.
Get a hi flo cat and your set.
My car just burns more fuel.. No real
Performance gains on the d16
I dissagree.. gains can be noticable on a decent intake system even on a SOHC non-VTEC.
when i say 'noticable' I dont mean neck-snapping power gains, buit moreso improved Throttle RESPONSE will be what you notice (over the noise)..
SRi is louder and best throttle response and top-end HP gains but it sucks in hot hair being close to the motor and this can reduce the power.
CAi is best for low down torque/response, but compared to SRi it can take a while to respond when you step on the throttle pedal. The colde air charge is definately better than hot underhood air but once you're up and running, if you give your SRi a cold-air feed, the difference in loss of power through heat soak is minimal.
Be careful with CAi's in winter though as they tend to position the filter quite low down and this can result in the inhalation of water :(
Same driving habits.. Always had a leadfoot aha. Sucking heaps more air will make it suck more fuel. Air fuel ratio must be the same?
Ye watch out for puddles. You'll suck up water and hydro lock the engine
ignore a SRI or a CAI
Get a hi flow panel air filter, remover the resenator at the bottom of the stock air box and feed a pipe for cold air.
the only other thing i would bother doing is getting a pipe made up that is the same as your stock pipe just less restricive.
Nice and easy way of doing it without attracting too much attention =)
Done all of the above and was happy, not much noticable gain [All of it is mainly psychological ie OMFG Induction & Exhaust Noise make my car a race car etc] but felt better and had a nicer tone to it without being outrageously noisey [I don't really like most induction noise except ones with ITBs harharhar]
I've found that my fuel consumption has actually improved with I/H/E, i used to get about 350k's from a tank with just a Catback Exhaust, to 400k's with added Intake, Header & Hi Flow Cat. I'm running Simota Cold Air, PLM TA Header, X-Force 100 Cell Cat and Skunk2 Megapower exhaust by the way. Very happy with the setup.
with petrol i was getting about 550k before i put the cai on. now im getting around 400-450k.. strange.
Just had an engine transplant so maybe will get a tune now
man im getting 300 350 and thats with a b16a2 with 114000 on it
Get one of those eBay turbine thingys you put in the stock intake piping will increase power and fuel economy by 300%
natsrs
I get 500kms before fuel light...
210000kms i/h/e
450 if iengage vtec alot (few times a day)
Do you b like vtec just kicked in yo?!
Erryday, you know how we do it!
Lawl
4-2-1 headers/extractors, 2.25" high flow cat custom single exhaust, Injen CAI that sits down the front bumper where cold air comes & tune.
im thinking of aem v2 cai with a 4-2-1 headers 2.25 high flo cat 2.25 to twinloop all xforce cause im a tide ass and maybe a apexi vafc 2 and where could i get a good tune from thanks
yeaa i know i would go hondata but havent got the money to do it :(
http://www.greddy.com/products/elect...nage-ultimate/
Get this mate & find a tuning mechanic to do the rest for you... Forget VAFC lol
how much are they and have u used one before i raced my mate last night he has a crx del sol with a type r gearbox and a injen cold air intake with he has a dyno paper saying 105kw i have a ek4 stock to the rock expected a whale penis and 3 people in the car he had 1 i had him 1 2 then on 3 he took off :( i wanna put him to shame :)
Did you guys close the road?
My mate Recons someone went to him, streets closed pizza boy find another way home
Then he goes god damn street racers
same price as a vafc thanks im gonna go with the greddy now thanks for showing me this product im gonna get it tuned at toda au
nar i havent done anything yet getting qoutes still for my exhaust and trying to find a aem v2 cai after do that get my greddy e-mange and get it tuned at toda au
narrr im not concerned with high dro lock i just heard good things about both intake dont know which ones better lol umm im near leichhardt area why not toda too much $ ?
I'm not going to get into why not Toda
Just not toda
That's all brew lol
Over the two you want Id go the aem v2
Make sure you have installed the exhaust and intake, also the ecu. Contact this tuning place http://www.tunehouse.com.au/contact-us-performance/, they are located near you.
Just Engine Management - Ingleburn might be abit of a track for you. They are really good, good service and race history.
I would vouch against TODA, AU as well.
Shit they don't even answer their phone anymore.
EDIT: Their advise and contacts in the industry hasn't let me down.
is twinloop a good way to go for exhaust for performance ?
Twinloops fine.... Quiet on idle and roars in vtec :) best of both worlds.
yer love twinloop man best thing created lol
im gonna get its all xforce the hole way through does xforce have the chat tinny sound or is it fine cause i know the cheaper brands get the chat tinny nosie
my mate had complete xforce exhaust with twinloop on his b16 EG dam it sounded nice very quiet but once vtec comes on it screams
do u know if it was 2.25 inch all the way through
just got my injen cai with hydrolock shield 450 :) my ass hole is the size of a fist but very happy with it more throttle response down low :)
i cant find a greddy ecu jdm yard dont have them were do i get it from thanks
there in another country dont like buying $ shit on line
Okay fair enough, go to this place
