alright...decided that my vtir is gonna get the jdm/sleeper look..i'm over all the bling...
just wondering where's a good place to go in melb if i want to powder coat my stockies black? and how much should i be paying for a job like that?
also curious...what are people's opinions of black hoods? since CF hoods are illegal and all...what do ppl think of painted black hoods?
i dont really like the look of a CF hood in the first place so probs ppl will just give you crap, will say you wish u had CF but cant afford or sum shit, ppl always have to pick on you lol. but i wouldnt do it if i were u.Quote:

Full carbon fibre hoods are illegal yes
But you can still by a carbon fibre hood approved with crumple zones and alloy support ( not 100% carbon)

i asked my dad. he used to work in powder coating factory. im in sydney though, he goes its roughly 120bucks, depending on what is on the wheels already. price might be different, as my dad knows the ppl that do it . hope that helps.

is ur car red or maroone? cuz black on red is alright but black on marOone is another story
if your gonna get ur wheels powder coated, u gotta first take the tyres off, then take to a sand blasting joint, then take it to a powder coatin place. alot of work.
or you could just drop them off at a tyre place and they can send it out for you lol, which is about 35-40 per wheel dependin on place

bell street powder coating djgarv, they will diamond sandblast and powdercoat for you.... but yes you will need to take the rims off in the meantime. How you going to drive your baby around?
can run around 4wd styles on my 17s in the meantime i guess lol

just do it yourself, theres a few articles on TI for sprayin your own rims, you may as well, if you do a good job you saved yourself some $$$ and if not you were going to get it done anyway - but gun metal definately better...I've actually always wondered what a cf hood would look like on my torino (maroon) teg...

gold might be too bright but i think bronze might look good - that civic is more bronzey than the dc2 with gold...and it looks better

Black hoods are definately different. Look its up to you what you want to do to your car and no1 should influence it, but i think it would look a bit cheesy on a burgundy car but thats just my 2 cents!!

IMO black hoods only look good if the paint is more basic color. like white/red/yellow/silver.
but when you start mixing it with maronn's, turqoise and all that it does look like cheese! but yeh, gunmetal fat 5's. nice one
CF hoods are mad... but i'm not sure bout painted black hoods.. means that u want it for the look, not for the performance [looks at JINRAI]... i must admit yeh the looks look dang hawt but dunno... i dunno if i would paint the hood.. and btw, HOW illegal is a CF hood?.. defekt obviously but do the cops look out for these kinda "accessories"?
i'm guessing they do...isn't it the most noticeable mod...JUST before they pop your hood to defect you? hehehehe
