My idea of JDM is owning a jap car (even if its australia delivered) i.e. hondas....
and modifying it with performance/aesthetic mods ideally from Japan (how else jdm?)
It's not about stickers/stance/lows/etc its the modifying style adapted from the japs i.e. bodykits, wheels, lights, intake, exhaust, etc.
You can make your car look JDM and someone will call it USDM vice versa. Everyone's opinion on it is different.
Right now I consider sleeper cars a big jdm thing but no one else gives.

Point is, most styles are JDM [VIP/Bippu, Itasha, what we'd call rice/show], they've been through and have done/doing a lot of stuff we in Australia and abroad have done too. Coining a single style under the JDM banner is akin to calling just one of the styles on OH [Racers, Stanced, Riced, etc] AUDM. There is more to JDM than some trick aero and a panda paintjob, if that was all it required to be 'JDM', hell Europe's hotted up cars are JDM too then...

every little bits count, start with interior, the JDM EG6 interior is very different to the EG interior we get here.
change everything from the coins pocket to the centre console.
put good wheels like Enkie, Works etc, dont put stupid crome wheels. and keep it 15-16"

So to make your car JDM style get parts from the Jap model and re birth here or Import one from JAP to be 100% JDM. At the end of the day styling is very subjective as everyone has a different personalities and we do up our cars based on that.
Also be careful of ebay fakes. That is not JDM! if you ebay'd a part in your car unless if its real deal its NOT JDM. And SPACERS Aren't JDM.

I am all over with this JDM stuff. I am just gonna build my car the way i like it, and show it the way i like it. Its gonna be street legal, have a good vtec in it, with a full roll cage, good wheels, lowered by coilovers, sounds deadly, goes like a nuclear bomb and eats up v8s, and put whatever stickers i like to be put on it. And if I have enough money, bodykit (I am leaving the orignal rear spoiler as I like it 'smooth') paint it the most unquie colour I can find that everyone jaws will be dropping or drooling. It wont be a Type R replica, its going to resprsent the EK1s, then pretenting its something else.
And yes I have big spotties on my civic right now but saving up a daily driver so I can do whatever i like with my civic now.
