With this service, Honda advise it really should be done by them... But is this really necessary?? From what the manual says its fairly simple, other then checking to make sure everything else is in check.
Honda advised me it's 480 through them, when I can do it for a much cheaper price
Make sure you do your transmission fluid too
The manual says oil, oil filter and spark plugs. So a transmission fluid flush would need to be on the cards as well?? Honda didn't say tho would be a part of theirs =\
u should do a number of things and if there is no other choice than honda then i yeah, but if u can opt for someone you know is better then save money and buy more stuff to do for service e.g. trans oil, upper engine cleaner, airfilters. even a radiator flush might be dued

Transmission oil in Euros doesn't get changed til... WAIT FOR IT 120,xxxkms. Yes that's at least 10 years of the same OIL in that poor transmission - get it done ASAP
Quiz Honda about the regular ATF/MTF oil changes and thay say 'follow the book'
But after the late 90's Honda started having transmission problems

I drop my auto transmission fluid at 9 months old at 20,000 km on the clock. It was black and alot of metal debris stuck to the magnet. Note its not even 12 months old!!
The Honda DW1 is only $58.00 for 4 litres cheap insurance (I flush it 2 times) and dead easy to flush!!

I should have taken a picture of the old trans fluid and the magnet. I thought it would be still red in colour at that low 20,000km point. But it was black as black coffee and was really surprise.
I suppose its doing its job, just change it more often as its cheaper than a tranny rebuild.

No wonder people are having trans issue with higher mileage Honda. If the factory say to change it at 100k km or more the trans oil is far too gone and all the additives has completely broken down. Fark it cost me $80.00 every time I fill the car with petrol. Its no brainer to spend $110.00 and do the trans fluid every 20-30k km.
All I can say that at 20,000km point I started getting a slight hesitation / thump when shifting in the morning when the tranny is still cold. The trans oil is possibly started to thickened.
Once I did the flush the slight thump (shifting from second to third) in the morning is all gone. All you can feel is the normal shifting from the auto tranny.

does the trans fluid flush and change intervals that you guys recommend go for the MT as well as the AT?
yes it does. i personally think mt should be more regular.

OK here are a couple of pictures of a 9 months old 20,000km trans fluid looks like. I pour it back from the old container and use a clear bottle to show you the difference.
If you haven't figured it out the bottle on the left is new trans fluid and the one on the right is the old trans fluid.
Notice the old fluid still has a very slight red tint but its like a black coffee colour. I know colour shouldn't really makes a difference but it does make you wonder hey?
