Hey guys, sorry for the noob question - but I can't seem to find decent answers/products anywhere...
I've got a mechanically stock 95 EXi (manual sedan) and I want to give it a nice deep exhaust note (not necessarily a loud one - just deeper) legally, and on a tight-ass budget. Links to products or ideas would be much appreciated.

Any idea on cost and what products to use and where to get them?
Maybe start with an intake?
Just get an exhaust shop to delete the stock resonators should be nice and deep after that. shouldn't cost too much because it will be a cut and weld.
Otherwise get a straight pipe from cat to muffler if you have a bit more money

Get the stock air box
Gut the resonator and put in a pod filter
At the front of the car will sound badass over 3000rpm
but from the exhaust will still sound stock if you do have a stock system - so no cop magnet :P
The Accord is just a daily that I'm tryin to make into a classy daily - so it will hardly ever (if at all) see rpm of 3000+.
As for the resonator delete at an exhaust shop, won't that make the sound more raspy and tinny like a teeny tiny motorbike?

I found a 2.5" cat back setup on eBay for roughly $120 postage included. It had a hotdog resonator and also what I assume to be a straight through muffler with a tip on it. No details on the muffler itself were given though, only that it was infact included and welded to the 2.5" piping with mounts/hangers (specific to the car) welded also - with a 4" tip.Quote:

look heres what it is;
an intake wont give you an exhaust sound so if you spacifically want an exhaust note then dont touch the intake. but intake noise is the best.
if you want your car to sound like shit then take the ebay unit but if you want a subtle low exhaust note then buy or build a catback with a quality center and rear muffler. if your looking to save money then you can use crush bend mild steel for the piping..
you need to understand that the low deep rumble is a byproduct of a quality high flow but well muffled exhaust system.
the other option is to download an mp3 of the tone you like and play it lowed when u go cruising to the city.
