I want to attach the emblem in the center of that grill mesh, but I'm not sure if the 3M double sided tape was fit for this purpose :P

love the badge though - very 60's! Tempted to get 2 myself for fender badges!
it may look a bit off, but what about using a bit of thin fishing line to mount it? use the 3M backing sticky tape as well but strengthen the bond with fishing line.
Stickaflex will work perfect for this.
Just add a decent amount behind the badge and rest the badge on the area you wish to place it on the grill let it sit to dry (overnight).
The following day flip the grill over and add some more to the back.
Alot of smash repairs use this stuff to re-attach badges to cars after resprays.

I'll have a look at using clips and/or glue. Although I was hoping not to go down the track of using glue.

you'd have to glue clips to the back of the badge, then clip them on to the grill

Ah that looks pretty good!
So, the 2 long screws will be glued/epoxy to the emblem,
feed the 2 screws through grille,
metal gaskets will slide all the way up the screw, to the badge,
then lastly attach the screw nut to secure it to the grille.
I'll visit my local Bunnings today, but I've never seen gaskets like that before.

Yeah I went with washers in the end.
Here's the DIY. (However, I have a feeling it's going to fall off when I go through a car wash or in extreme heat (i.e., when the car is running), as epoxy apparently loses its grip after 60-70 degrees.)
What you'll need
1x Honda Civic with a custom grille
1x Honda emblem ($12 from eBay.........$11 on Amazon).
2x M6.0*16MM flat head hexagon bolts and nuts (~$4-$5 from Bunnings). An alternate are 1/4*1 inch screws for ~30c each, but they don't conceal as nicely as the M6.0.
1x Epoxy / Araldite (depending on brand, it'll range from $5 to $15. I went with the $5 brand).
2x 1/4" flat washers (12c each from Bunnings).
How to do it
1. Flip the badge on its belly.
2. Peel off the 3M double sided tape.
3. Put a dab of epoxy on the screw head.
4. Place it firmly on the back of the badge.
5. Repeat 4 & 5 for the other screw.

5. Let it dry for a few hours...or even better, overnight.
6. Remove the radiator cover from your car (refer to Step 1, in this guide)
7. Feed the emblem through the front of the mesh.
8. Reach around the back of the grille and attach the washer, and then the nut.
9. Done!
Notes
If you're planning on painting the bolts, nuts, and washer, only do the washer, because the paint will make the nut and bolt too thick for the nut to fit through. A 16mm screw is pretty small anyway, so you won't be able to see an ugly bolt sticking out from behind.
I'm only up to step 5, so I'll report more tomorrow evening when I finish work and dinner. However, my fingers got itchy and I fed the bolts through the mesh and it fits almost perfectly, even without the washer and nut.
My only concern is washing my car and hearing it fall off while I'm driving due to the warm-ish heat coming from the engine.
u shouldnt have any problems with temps at the grill reaching temps that will effect the glue
if u do.. then u got more problems to worry about then losing a badge

An update...
6. Remove the radiator cover from your car (refer to Step 1, in this guide). I pried out the radiator cover clips with with plastic prying tools.
7. Measure where the centre of the grill is and feed the emblem through the front of the mesh...you can see how hi-tech my measuring skills are

9. Done! (Quite honestly, if you want an even more finished look, you don't need to have the washer and nut behind the grille. There's already enough grip with the bolt going through the grille.

looks really good but should paint the mounting hardware black just to finish it off nicely
