HI guys,
I tried to do a google search but could not find much. JUst wondering if Honda uses a Bose sound system in any of its 8th Gen Euro models?
Is it the same sound system in the Euro luxury?
Thanks

Alpine speakers IIRC. The stock ones are pretty crap tbh.
Sorry mate... do you mean they come with alpine speakers?
Yep, none of them use Bose...
I was wondering how Mazda has a Bose system set up..while Honda wouldn't have a high end ting like that!
i thought it is quite good with a little subtle subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf.
Alpine and Bose are comparable in car audio market.
Mine got tinny after a few years :<
I think "Bose" speakers in the Kia/Mazda, "Beats" in the Chrystler etc. are just marketing.
It's not until you reach the premium brands : Bang & Olufsen in BMW, Mark Levinson in Lexus, Harmon Kardon in Mercedes etc. before you can hear good factory speakers (and these brands cost extra $$$ on top of the stock speakers too).
Mazda sells bose speaker for $300each last time i asked
I am thinking a 10 speaker sound system with subs should sound really nice I think, for what it is
I think you should spend the cash on functionality man
Nah mate not spending a penny .. I was just curious coz, like someone mentioned Kia and Mazda are talking about Bose I thought surely Honda would be up there too...
Bose is overrated and crap :P
Ah well ... I will have alpine :P haha
?? You think Bose is crap too? I do like their sound..just find them too exp
It's not really the speakers that are a problem, I would say it's more the insulation and NVH that you'll prob want to deal with. Dynamat and that would prob be a better upgrade than speakers, unless you listen to music in your car when it's off. FPV and Ford have BOSE in their higher end Falcons and a lot of reviews have rated them substandard. I'm not surprised though, as the last Lexus I was in was very very quiet, especially compared to my CL9. Which goes to show speaker quality can only matter so much if the environment is bad.
i think bose speaker r very good souund but they $$$$$$$$$
Here's an upgrade thread if you're looking to install the Bose/aftermarket speakers: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...peaker-upgrade
Honda uses Mitsushita head unit and speakers
Matsushita = Panasonic
It's basically lower end Panasonic stuff.
Good luck.
Go an Apline HU/AMP + Focal Speaker/sub = bang for buck in car entertainment. (these two are somewhat market leaders/benchmark in their specific part)
Dynmat is an excellent and easy to do mod for any sound system. But it adds weight.
i'd love to get focal but i hear a system like that would cost as much as the car itself!!
I have heard the Mazads sound system. Its very good for a stock system. I thought my work mate had a sub, just turned out a really good stock system lol in her Mazda 3
The Focals are better, clarity, sound definition and handles the big amp power nicely. Gets to a point where I can entertain my whole road (small road only 9 houses) from my car on approx 60% power from head unit. No distortion on big bass or high pitch sounds.
Aftermarket > Factory Supplied
I changed everything, wiring/speakers/sub/amp/headunit. Replaced the stock ones with Aftermarket. Easy to do. It was my 1st audio install as well.
Honestly the hardest part was running 4gauge wiring from battery to amp.
Rest was easy as pie. Everything is colour matched and labelled so its really hard to fk up. Just plug here plug there, screw here hide wire there.
I spent 2k and 2 days, 1 day of just watching YouTube videos how to do it.
You can do it on the cheap and still be aokay i guess. Descent sony/kenwood/Pioneer system could be done for under $800. Still be waaaaay better then your stock.
Little bro running Sony - Amp, Sub, Headunit and Pioneer 4 Way 6x9 + splits up front. Set him back $450(xmas sale). Its deafening to have all the windows up. This is still better then the mazad's system.
His head unit also supports Bluetooth (steam music + calls from his phone).
If i were you, I'd wait for the end of financial year sale, JBHIFI were selling borderline descent subs and amps for $60 ea.
Sounds good.. defo expensive but then I dont feel like settling for the second best now after hearing all about the focals.. Ill try to get a good deal off the internet/ebay.. Mate could you give me the details of what you bought I might try to replicate the set up if its ok?
