- intake/headers/exhaust and call it a day unless you plan on boosting in the future.
sell it
lmao or what Vvvtec said if you got a spare grand or so lying around
Dont waste ur money on D16y4.
It dont even got vtec.
Best way to remove rust off headers? Is it safe to soak in vinegar?
pm grifty
he will pay good money for mint d series
Pm TbM he put k series in but I think reverting back to d series
kswap it
Do the h/e/I upgrade like said, an aftermarket ecu and then boost. That'll be your best option. Have some fun till you blow it up or get bored, the. Either go b series, or if you got the cash K.
However, I recommend doing all the structural supporting mods first. Your coilovers, camber arms, control arms, sway bars, strut bars, brakes etc. Once you've done this, then start worrying about power. Power is useless if the car isn't designed to support it.
so much LOLWAT to this post.
Why is I/H/E then ECU then boost best option. to me sounds like doing a lot of things for nothing.
your so called structural mods.
coilovers - why
camber arms - why
sway bars - why
why does he need to upgrade that. Why does he need to upgrade that 1st?
Because if he doesn't do that, decided to scrap the d series and throw in a k or b with the car unable to support the engine, then he's stuck running a car that maybe unsafe and is left second handling everything.
Intake heads and exhaust are the basic. Make him a little power until, or if he decides to go boost. Ecu, if you want to make power you are always going to need to tune.
Give me your reading as to why not and what you would recommend, short of scrapping the d or jumping straight to boost.
I am also bit wot
Why buy intake and headers when you gonna change them when boost anyway?
Stock suspension is fine for that too, who cares
Holden drivers got cut Springs with supercharger they have no issues
Holdens with superchargers also make shit all power in a tank of a chassis.
He wanted to know what he could do to it. Typical mods are HEI. If he wanted to later, then maybe go boost.
Hell, HEI are cheap enough and high enough demand that he could sell it off afterwards anyways.
to be honest i wouldnt be taking advice on safety (or anything car related) from a kid who has drum brakes and flips his lca upside down.
That's the reason I'm telling him to do it all before hand. Learn from my mistakes.
Looks like cbauto found someone else to hate.
<3Frwend.
To be fair here.
Dylan is kinda correct in what he said.
Handling, Stopping power, Cooling all should be addressed before chasing power mods.
Buhhh I don't think his approaching it the correct way.
Go do ur homework Dylan.
Dont piss Sensi off.
What shit fite stopped here too.
Hmm i need to sign up to more forums.
No no. I've learnt, googled, books. I have an idea of what I'm talking about.
I don't really know how else to approach it. These guys have been on my back for the near get go.
Now. Stop the school girl crap and give the kid his thread back.
Woo big guy. Cmon then explain. Please tell me what you have learn't from the interwebs vs what these guys have experinced by doing the mods.
The reason for the mods that I recommended are to stiffen handling, the adjustable coilovers are to alter height (duh) but also alter the stiffness. I.e the rebound and dampening rate.
Sway bars is once again to reduce the movement and stiffen the driving. It helps to reduce body roll from side to side, meaning through the corners you aren't having the inner wheel lift and loose traction.
Camber arms is to dial in on the sweet spot where the wheels have optimal +/- camber for traction. Lowering a vehicle gives it natural negative camber (top leans in).
The strut bars is to reduce body twist.
Rear brace (forgotten the name) is required to upgrade an ek to accommodate a larger 22/24mm sway.
Control arms is just replacing pressed steel with strengthened and lightened alloys. Last thing you want is a broken control arms.
I may be young, but I ask far too many questions to my old man and his car mates. I've also been through hell on my ek. And I'm sure I've gotten some of that wrong...
I'm not trying to be a dick. Just trying to get some respect back and earn my place.
yeah supercharged 6.2lt make fuk all power

upgrade to aftermarket alloy arms, stronger....
Alloy rim upgrade
The only v8 commodore that has been released is the new hsv vf club sport, and even then it wasn't like that off the factory floor. Other than that, it was only the vt an some of the vs. They were a 3.8L and made a little over 220hp in a 1.5t chassis. In comparison to even a d series with a turbo on it, the commo has no power in a heavy chassis.
