That's the VTEC blow off valve
Suspect hidden turbo
Did you do anything to the car when the noise started? Check the intake pipe and or airbox for any leaks
Na not really just went to take off hard and it was whistling but only starts about 6krpm whilst acellerateing hard.so I can't hunt the sound down as it only makes the sound in vtech and the the type S won't enguage it unless the cars mobile... I'll take another look when the Suns back up
check radiator
This is left field but what about grounds?
Theirs no sound at all unless I'm flat foot in vtech sounds 100% perfect untill that moment im thinking if it was the earth it would do that sound all the way
How many KM on motor?
What Mods you got?
What was done last service?
Inb4newpodfilter. Cos my Type R Whistles too in vtec, cos Injen and pod filter.
Id say the noise is most likely intake related...
155k no mods serviced every 5k km yeah I'm thinking intake too
Hey bud, It only does it when you THROTTLE it right? Have you tried just letting go of the accelerator at high rpm when it drops down does it still make the noise? I had an issue like this on an old CRX did it at low RPM though. It was the throttle body leaking air under pressure. After changing that all was fixed (could just be a loose gasket or something though).
And ignore the guys with useless replies lol. It's quite common here. AND It definitely is not your Head Gasket lol - no relation to it.
I took it to sleeping peformance and turns out its a transmission bearing only happens under really high load as it's not that bad yet thanks for the help though.
Yeah he's a good guy. Always hes cheaper than Anyware else and does a better job what else can u want in a mechanic ?
vee tesh
put a vacuum gauge and check for intake leak, does it do it while free revving the engine? or only under load?
